Happy Sunday, everyone.
I always feel that Sunday finds us at a bit of a threshold: the ending of one week and the precipice before the beginning of a new one. It often asks us to create space to reflect on what has happened over the last few days, to allow things to rise to the surface, and to release what we don't want to carry forward into the week ahead.
For me, this week has been emotionally difficult for a number of reasons. So this morning, I wanted to spend some time resetting my nervous system. That looked like coming into the shop early before teaching my class and spending a little time in quiet contemplation.
A client brought me a beautiful piece of moonstone a few weeks ago that her husband had found whilst out walking in what I think was the Peak District, although I could be wrong. I love the properties associated with moonstone because I find its gentle, calming energy perfect for work around emotional release, balance, softness, and clarity.
Spending a few minutes with this piece allowed the emotions of the week to rise to the surface. Afterwards, I spent some time journalling. Getting those thoughts and feelings onto paper is incredibly helpful for me because it gives them another place to exist outside of my body. I find that especially important as someone who, like many others, doesn't always find it easy to openly communicate how they're feeling for fear of upsetting someone, causing offence, or simply getting the words wrong.
I hope that whatever you do today, you find some time to tap into your body and your mind, allowing your own week to rise to the surface. May it give you the opportunity to process what needs processing and gently let go of anything you don't wish to carry into the week ahead.
You'll also find a little picture of Iris, my fur grandbaby, amongst all of this because, let's face it, fur snuggles go a long way when it comes to resetting the nervous system.
I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday, and I wish you a wonderful new chapter as a new week begins.
