*FOOD BANK TEMPORARILY CLOSED WED 29TH AND THURS 30TH SEPT*

Despite our best efforts 🏇, the ongoing 'fuel pandemic ⛽' and HGV 🚛 driver shortage has hindered our progress in getting stock for this week's food bank 🥦. Our supply chain 🚛 has falling behind schedule and has delayed deliveries for days.

Whilst we had anticipated 👨‍💻 this to be an issue for the last few months 🗓, we managed to continue sourcing foods 🛒 from various suppliers to continue our work 🫕. This sometimes meant travelling for more then 3 to 4 ⌚ hours to collect supplies to provide easier access to food 🥗 for our community.

However, the surge in demand for fuel ⛽ since the weekend meant that our suppliers 👷‍♂️ and collections team 👱‍♂️ are not able to move around quick enough 🚀 to get the required amount of stock to open our doors.

Hundreds of people 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️🙋 rely our foodbank 🍇 service on a weekly basis, we therefore hope and pray 🙌 that things return to normal by next week so we can open our doors again 🛖.

As we phase out the last stages of our 🗣 Coronavirus Response projects 📑, we'd like to thank 👏 all our volunteers 🙋‍♀️🙋 and supporters 😎 that made these projects possible. The last year and a half has literally been a rollercoaster 🎢 ride.

As predicted, over the last few months 🗓 we have seen a gradual reduction 📉 in service users whilst the economy 🏦 reopens and people get back into work👨‍💻. In June we supported 250 people per week on average, in July this reduced to 175 and in August it was 110. This month it is forecasted to reduce again ↘️.

This reduction ↘️ in the number of service users means that we can now evaluate 📑 our next steps 👣 and streamline 🏎 our support services to where it will be most needed.

This week, the two 40ft refridgerated containers 🚛 we used for food storage 🥦 will be returned to the hire company. Some of the warehousing equipment 🚧 that we have been using will also be returned.
