Community Pharmacy England are holding a workshop in East and North Midlands on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟳.𝟬𝟬 - 𝟵.𝟯𝟬𝗽𝗺.

This face-to-face event will enable pharmacy owners and their representatives to discuss the next steps for community pharmacy with CPE, hear more about the outcome of the CPCF negotiations for 2026/27 and feed directly into CPE's priorities for the 2027/28 CPCF negotiations and beyond.

Lindsey Fairbrother, the representative of independent pharmacy owners for the region, and other members of the Community Pharmacy England Committee, as well as some of the Executive Team will also be in attendance, plus representatives from your LPC. An agenda and topics for discussion will be published nearer the time, and CPE will seek your views before the event, to reflect the issues, challenges and opportunities most relevant to your community.

We will continue to support contractors to increase activity by working with the ICB and LMC to support referrals from GP into the service. However, please make sure you are achieving threshold and claiming for the threshold payment before the monthly deadline. Don't miss out!

With temperatures set to hit the mid 20s this bank holiday weekend, we will undoubtedly see an increase in patients presenting with infected insect bites in community pharmacies across the region 🦟

Please make sure that you and your pharmacy team are prepared to support anyone presenting with symptoms and having a conversation with customers purchasing bite & sting relief creams as they may benefit from a Pharmacy First consultation and help you reach threshold this month.

Our chief officer, Nick Hunter and the CPD committee were delighted to support our chair Ben Eaton and his colleagues, including Lucy Dean, a fourth generation pharmacist, as they welcomed Samantha Niblett MP to Dean & Smedley Ltd's community pharmacy in Swadlincote last Friday.

It was a great opportunity to talk to Samantha about the key role of pharmacy in our communities, discuss some of the challenges facing all of us working in the pharmacy industry and provide useful feedback for her to take back to Government.

Thank you for taking the time to visit the pharmacy and listen to what we had to say Samantha, it was very much appreciated. We look forward to continuing to work with you for the benefit of every person across the Derby and Derbyshire region.

Some pharmacies in the region are narrowly missing threshold payments by a handful of claims; sometimes just by one or two claims. This means they miss out on either the £500 or £1000 threshold payment.

As we head towards the end of the month, please check your Pharmacy First Threshold payments now and push for threshold over the next week. Don’t miss out!
