The yogic teachings describe us as more than just a physical body. In the ancient wisdom of the koshas, we are seen as layered beings - interconnected dimensions of body, energy, mind, intuition, and inner peace.

These 5 koshas (or “sheaths”) move through every part of our human experience:

✨ the physical body
✨ the energetic body
✨ the mental & emotional body
✨ the wisdom body
✨ the bliss body

Rather than separate parts, they are deeply intertwined. When one layer is overwhelmed, unsupported, or disconnected, the others often feel it too. And when one layer is nourished, healing ripples through the whole system.

This is one of the reasons yoga offers such a holistic path ~ movement for the body, breath for the nervous system, meditation for the mind, self-inquiry for deeper awareness and spiritual connection through ritual, intention, and sacred practice 💫

In my work, both through yoga and as a humanistic psychotherapist, I support people in reconnecting with these layers of being in a compassionate and embodied way.

Not simply “fixing” symptoms, but creating space to listen:
to the body,
to emotions,
to patterns,
to needs,
to the deeper self beneath conditioning and survival.

Because healing isn’t just mental or physical ~ it’s relational, emotional, energetic, and deeply human.

The koshas remind us that wellbeing is not about perfection. It’s about integration, awareness, and coming home to ourselves layer by layer 🤍

There’s something really special about working from The Elephant Rooms - not just the therapy room itself, but the feeling of the whole space. The gardens, the quiet, the chance to pause before stepping back into the business of everyday life.

I’ve been reflecting lately on how my psychotherapy practice is evolving. Slowly, and in a way that feels very natural & authentic- my therapy work, yoga teaching, and somatic trauma therapy training with Babette Rothschild are beginning to integrate more deeply together 🌀🪷🗣️🌱🫶🦋🧘🏻🌀

So much of healing & processing trauma isn’t only about talking - it’s also about feeling safe enough in the body to soften, breathe, regulate, stabilise and reconnect. The more I deepen my experience of working with the nervous system, the more awareness I bring both in and out of the therapy room. Nature can be such an important part of regulation, grounding and restoration ~ and what a beautiful space for clients to be able to access and use in their own way 🌺 🌳 🧚🏻

Grateful to hold space in such a beautiful environment while continuing to grow a practice that honours both mind and body 🌿✨

Restorative yoga is a deeply nourishing practice designed to help the body and mind slow down. Using supportive props and longer-held poses, we gently encourage the nervous system to shift from the “fight or flight” stress response into the parasympathetic state ~ the body’s natural rest, repair, and healing mode.

When the nervous system begins to regulate and settle, the body can truly start to restore itself.

Hello everyone ✴️

Here are some affirmations to support the Sacral Chakra - the centre of creativity, pleasure, emotional flow and connection.

Using positive affirmations is a gentle yet powerful way to support any imbalances. You might like to repeat them in the morning, during your practice, or throughout the day.

Affirmations are short, positive statements which, when repeated over time, create new, supportive imprints in the subconscious mind.
We are, in essence, reprogramming the brain and reshaping our belief system.

You might notice resistance to certain words… feeling silly or uncomfortable. Often, this is where healing is needed most.
Stay with it gently.

The intention is to reach a place where the body and mind begin to accept and embody what is being said.

✨ You can also create your own affirmations
If there are areas where you feel blocked, try turning them into a positive statement ~ as if you already are or feel that way.

Use present moment language:
“I am…”
“I feel…”
rather than “I will…” 🧡
