Things to keep in mind before & after having your tattoo removed 💭
💧 • STAY HYDRATED! Up your water intake, this helps your immune system flush out the tattoo once its been lasered
🚬 Avoid smoking if possible
You can still smoke, although this could slow down the removal process as your body is already trying to remove smoking related pollutant's
🍷 Reduce alcohol intake
Your body's immune system will find it a lot more difficult to flush out the tattoo after the treatment, again slows down removal process.
☀️ Avoid direct sun/sunbeds for 2 weeks
If you are directly in the sun or have been using sun-beds, this can delay appointments. The sun will increase your levels of melanin, if you are treated with laser and you are directly in the sun for a period of time this could cause further blisters or broken skin, which could ultimately lead to scarring.
🛁 Avoid soaking your skin for 3-5 days, this includes sauna's, swimming pools and steam rooms
Exposing your skin to this so soon could lead to infection
🕰️ Allow at least 6-8 weeks between sessions
🧴 Apply SPF and keep the area clean and moisturised
This is to protect your skin and the area being treated from
UV rays and preventing sunburn.
🏃♀️ Live a healthy lifestyle
Continuing to live a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise will be beneficial as it increases blood flow. This can speed up the healing and removal process
