As the cooler weather rolls in, it feels welcome to be back after a week of family time.

In the warmer weather we naturally develop a slower pace.

Maybe join me in a micro practice to wake up your body in a twist variation.

Come to sit with your legs long in front of you.

Draw your big toes to the sky and your little toes towards you.

With your hips connecting to your mat, on an inhale see if you can grow an inch taller.

Next inhale notice that engagement of our body, your strength.

On an exhale take a gentle fold over your legs. As you fold bring your left hand to your right calf or foot, twisting your torso slightly.

Inhale feel your right hand and fingers reach back, coming into your twist.

Take a few breaths in this twist, feeling across your body to your finger tips.

Then on an exhale release your twist.

Repeat on the other side🫶🏽

When life keeps asking for more, the HPA axis (the body’s stress-response pathway) can stay switched on for too long.

This stress response isn't bad, the hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal glands (HPA) work together to help us meet challenge.

But when the stressors never fully soften, this system can become overworked, leaving us tense, alert, and difficult to settle.

Restorative yoga offers a quiet invitation back into balance, reminding the body that it does not have to keep bracing.

In the stillness of restorative shapes, supported by props and held with care, the nervous system begins to hear a different message, and the body is gently guided away from overdrive and toward regulation.

The breath softens.

The jaw unclenches.

The shoulders drop.

Little by little, the body remembers that rest is not something to earn — it is something it needs.

In this state, the HPA axis is given a chance to ease its constant signalling and return toward balance.

Restorative yoga is less about doing and more about allowing.

Like a tide retreating from the shore, stress gradually recedes, making room for steadiness, softness, and inner spaciousness.

In that quiet return, we are not just resting the body — we are teaching it that peace is welcome here too ❤️

Reflexology reminds us that support does not have to be overwhelming to be effective.

I find simple gentle slow strokes along the spinal reflex so amazingly soothing!

A little pressure, a little intention, a little tenderness can send ripples through your whole system and helping you trust your sacred rhythm.

The Spinal reflex runs along the inner edge of the foot.

Gentle work along the spinal reflex line can feel deeply grounding when we feel scattered and overwhelmed.

This area is connected to restoring energetic flow through the body and encouraging the system to move out of “survival mode”.

The spine closely protects and houses the central nervous system.

And the vagus nerve, one of the body’s most important calming nerves, weaves through this landscape.

When we are stressed, exhausted, or burnt out, this system can become dysregulated, leaving us feeling wired, drained, foggy, or disconnected from ourselves.

Through slow, intentional touch along the spinal reflexes we can feel a sense of ease in the body — as though the nervous system is finally being given permission to soften.

Creating the conditions where the body feels supported enough to rest, restore, and gently replenish itself 🌿

As the sun moves into Gemini, there is a shift in the air — lighter, brighter, more curious.

Gemini brings a sense of agility and aliveness, inviting us to reconnect with playfulness, conversation, and fresh perspective.

QiGong meets this energy beautifully.

It teaches us that energy/Qi does not need to be forced to move.

With gentle, mindful repetition, we begin to feel more rooted, more open, and more in flow with ourselves.

It is a practice of patience and presence, of returning to the body and allowing it to guide us.

QiGong reminds us that steady, intentional movement can transform us slowly and beautifully.

In Gemini season, this becomes a dance between groundedness and lightness — between holding ourselves with care and allowing space for new ideas, new breath, and new ways of becoming.

This is growth you can feel from the inside out: calm, sustainable, and deeply nourishing.

Sometimes fatigue is not just about getting enough sleep.

Sometimes it feels like the nervous system has been carrying too much for too long.

A little aromatherapy can be a gentle way to offer the body a moment of care.

Here are some blend ideas for your home diffuser.

Place in a 10ml base oil (such as grapeseed) a couple of drops of each essential oil (adjust to preference remembering less is more).

🌿Gentle Lift - Bergamot, lavender and frankincense. For fatigue that comes with overwhelm. It feels like a soft hand on the shoulder: calming, but still encouraging breath and space.

🌿 Grounded Energy - Grapefruit, cedarwood and black pepper. A steadier, more earthy blend for when you are drained but still need to keep going.

🌿Soft Recovery- Lavender, sweet orange and marjoram. Warm, soothing, and restorative — a beautiful “come back to yourself” blend for the end of the day.

🌿Trust your unfurling 🌿

You do not need to rush your becoming. Real growth is rarely dramatic.

It is quiet and steady.

Like a water droplet softening stone over time, the small practices we return to again and again begin to shape us gently.

This week I invite you to honour the little drips of change, to trust the process, and to remember that growth is not about arriving somewhere all at once, but about tending to yourself in ways that last.

In yoga and meditation, we are given space to stop striving and simply be with where we are.

Rather than forcing change, we learn to witness it.

Breath by breath, thought by thought, we soften into the truth that growth does not need to be hurried to be real.

Our practice becomes a quiet companion to sustainable wellbeing, helping us trust that even the smallest moments of presence are building something lasting — a steadier mind, a gentler heart, and a deeper sense of self-trust 🌿

There is something deeply freeing in moving without pressure or performance.

In allowing the body to lead, in trusting small gestures.

In noticing how even the simplest shift can bring a sense of lightness and release.

Mindful movement offers space to move with softness, inner strength and joy.

To reconnect with your body’s natural intelligence, and to remember that movement can be playful, and deeply alive.

This new moon invites you to come home to your body, to the earth beneath you, and to the deeper truths.

Ta**us is the sign of rootedness, beauty, nourishment, and devotion — but there is a fierceness in this moon too, a steadiness that knows what it wants.

Ta**us energy loves intention that can be felt in the body. Embodiment practices are welcome today.

Also ask yourself what would feel nourishing, steady, pleasurable, and true.

Maybe you offer something to the Earth: a few petals, a drop of water, a quiet promise, a thank you.

And let this moon be a soft rebellion.

Wear something that makes you feel magnetic.

Speak one boundary aloud.

Release one thing that has been draining your energy.

Ta**us can be deeply tender, but she is also immovable when she knows her worth! 🐂

We are in the season of fire, aliveness and warmth.

The season also associated with the Heart and Small Intestine meridians.

Gently move your way into summer with an invitation to let the body awaken, like warmth returning to the skin after a cool morning.

Embody and sense the lift of the chest, the ease of the shoulders, the subtle shimmer of breath as it finds more space.

Begin by softening the jaw and letting the tongue rest.

Feel the heart gently open as you inhale, not forcing a shape, simply allowing the front body to receive.

Let the arms trace small, expressive pathways through the air, as though the body is remembering how to reach toward light.

A slow opening, inviting the Heart to feel seen and the Small Intestine to sort, settle, and discern what is nourishing.

This is movement as inner clarity: warm, fluid, alive, and just a little radiant.

This is one of the first things I love to do in the morning — before the day has properly begun, before the mind has fully woken.

Just a few gentle moments to come back home and awaken my body.

Maybe join me.

Still lying in bed, close your eyes and take a slow breath.

Then, one by one, begin to squeeze every muscle in your body. Start at your toes, feet, legs, tummy, hands, shoulders, face.

Feel the wave flow up your body - tightening everything softly but fully.

Hold for 5 long slow steady breaths.

Then let it all go as you exhale.

Notice the ease as you travel back through your body, sensing each muscle in its relaxed form.

Repeat a couple more times (if you like), and allow yourself to arrive in the day with greater presence, awareness, and ease.

My simple little “squishing” practice is such a beautiful way to wake up gently and help release stiffness from sleep 💤
