🌿 PositiviTea Event in Wells-next-the-Sea, Coastal Health & Wellbeing Community Hub ☕

As many of you may know, I recently attended the wonderful PositiviTea event at Coastal Health & Wellbeing (formerly Wells Community Hospital) , and I wanted to share a little about this fantastic community space.

Coastal Health & Wellbeing is so much more than a building. From their community garden and café to exercise classes, wellbeing groups, and the Coastal Community Supermarket, they are bringing people together and supporting the health and wellbeing of local residents across coastal North and West Norfolk.

One of the groups they offer is their Cancer Care and Share Support Group. This welcoming drop-in group provides a relaxed space, welcoming space where people can come together for a coffee and a chat in a relaxed and friendly environment. It is a place where we can support one another by sharing experiences, listening, and talking openly — only if and when you feel comfortable to do so.
If you or a family member has been impacted by cancer in any way, you are very welcome to join them, whether you are recently affected, going through treatment, supporting someone, or living beyond cancer, you are not alone, and you are welcome.
The group is run by volunteers with lived experience, who understand first-hand some of the challenges that cancer can bring. Their aim is simply to offer a supportive space where people can connect and feel heard.

💚 Remember, it's good to talk. Sometimes a conversation over a cup of coffee can make all the difference.

📅 The group meets fortnightly - 📞 To find out when the next session is taking place, please call 01328 711996.

I thought I would share a few photos from my visit as it is such a beautiful place, and a real asset to the local community. 🌸
💚

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, offer support, and encourage conversations about breast health.
Whether you have been affected personally, supported a loved one, or simply want to learn more, every conversation helps.
Early detection can make a real difference, so take time to know your body, attend screening appointments when invited, and encourage others to do the same.
💗 Let's stand together in support of those living with breast cancer, those undergoing treatment, survivors, and those we remember.
👉 Take a moment today: check your chest, share this post, and help spread awareness 🎀💗

Would you like to help local NHS leaders plan how hospital services are delivered in the years to come?
Healthwatch Norfolk are gathering feedback on what people think healthcare should look like over the next 10 to 20 years, to help inform the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospital Group’s Clinical Strategy.
The strategy will consider how services in the future can be delivered by the three hospitals within the Group: The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, and The James Paget University Hospital.
Your voice matters. Make it heard.

Thank you Nellie Kuma for the invitation to attend the Talking About Cancer Together, Community Action Suffolk's 3rd Annual Networking and Health Inequalities Event on Monday 21st September.
The theme for this year’s event was ‘The Cancer Conversation’, looking at the importance of keeping conversations going and building bridges that communities feel safe to use.
It was an opportunity to listen to and engage with community leaders, cancer support advocates and experts, with discussions around health inequalities, cancer awareness, care and support.

🫶 Feeling inspired, it would be great to have something similar in Norfolk, please message below if you would like to be part of the conversation.
