Some of our members recently attended a Sensory Led Wellbeing Immersive Art Project, called MyPace, developed by Artist Domnall Starkie supported through an Immersive Arts UK Explore award. The project explored how gentle sensory cues such as vibration, red light therapy, blue light therapy, scent and biomorphic sculptural seating might support calm, uplift, focus and overall brain health.
This was a really enjoyable experience for our members and as a result we’re planning on hosting a session at Destined in the very near future. Details to be confirmed soon!

Voices of Resilience; Tonight, as part of the FĂ©ile Programme FĂ©ile Derry, Destined hosted a powerful event whereby for the first time, people with learning disabilities and parents shared their experience of what it was like living through the Troubles and the impact it had on them and their families. This weekend the first ever Model Railway Show to take place in the North West was hosted in Destined & The Foyle Valley Railway Museum. Hundreds of people passed the doors to view exhibits on display from Model Rail Enthusiasts who had travelled the length and breadth of Ireland to showcase their incredible work. Anyone who paid a visit will appreciate the level of talent and creativity that was on display was just incredible. Thank you to Martin Parke for organising this event and bringing it to life. A special word of thanks to Doug from Foyle & District Model Railway Society, Mark from Donegal Model Railway Club & to Pearse from Foyle Valley Model Railway Club for their support.
Thank you to all of the exhibitors who contributed to the event, we hope you enjoyed your visit to the city.
