Too often in today’s world we approach the emotional and physical well-being of individuals as a separate challenge. At CORE TRANSFORMATIO

N we utilise a BIOSOCIAL model in all our therapy, treating the whole not just the part. Put simply, this approach acknowledges the interaction and interconnection between individuals physical and mental well-being. With evidence proving the physiological and psychological are connected, CORE TRANSORMATION delivers therapy and recovery aimed at treating the whole individual. Ensuring injuries can be assessed and treated while also ensuring an individual has the support and tools to process and overcome any associated negative feelings. We are not limited to treating injuries that occur by accident or sport. Anyone not able to use their body in the way they wish can and will be assessed. We believe that as we progress through the years, it is prudent to:

o Reassess one’s priorities
o Set new goals
o Reflect on the events and challenges that have affected you
o What changes needs to occur
o And most importantly, how you can identify those opportunities that still are available

With aging, it offers both physical and psychological challenges that require a more nuanced approach to your holistic health. At CORE TRANSFORMATION, we utilise a multitude of therapies and interventions across both the mental and physical discipline’s that are tailored to aid in ensuring middle age is not a period to fear, but rather show it is a period of significant opportunity. Offering bespoke packages for both men and women, CORE TRANSFORMATION appreciates that life has challenges that exist in a multitude of environments both personal and professional and that both the body and mind must be treated simultaneously for true recovery to occur.

Don’t say I never do anything for you!

I sprained my ankle on the most glorious run - just so I could show you the rehab process! I fell in long grass on a hidden rock and rolled from plantaflexion onto inversion - luckily with all the proprioception I do - my body responded brilliantly and relaxed my ankle so I fell (into lush grass!)

I immediately knew ‘whoops’ ‘OW!’ I sat gently moving it then took my trainer off to see if there was any immediate swelling or bruising. I also did a range assessment and pain scale. I was confident I hadn’t fully ruptured and could walk. I walked slowly out of the first field then gently jogged back to the road to test the stability and all felt fine. When I got home some swelling was starting to appear so I iced it and gently mobilised.

There was only pain and in plantaflexion/inversion (pointed toe down and in) so I had gotten away with it! Slight bruising has since appeared but I am pretty sure it is just a grade 1 slight tear. I still have pain in the area but I also broke all the rules and wore heels on Saturday night (dancing predominantly on one leg - possible thanks to all my single leg training!) I iced as soon as we were home and woke up with very little swelling. Slight swelling now as I haven’t been offloading but pain is more stretch rather than tear. I have full range of motion with slight pain at end range…no running for me until pain free and confident with mobility under tension and load bearing!
