I was so honoured my friend Carly trusted me to create this heart for her, based on her Mum’s, and her sadly departed Dad’s fingerprints. It was lovely to see you mate. I hope he was looking down on us in approval ☺️

We met in Gibraltar, fell in love there and were married there. Now it’s lighthouse is on Rob’s leg forever along with the key to the Mediterranean. I loved this project as it’s so special to us however….

I’m interested to hear if anyone had a bad experience with numbing cream before?

Rob by his own admission hasn’t got the highest pain threshold so we thought we would try it. We left it on for the recommended time and he showed no initial adverse effects.

He reacted quite badly to the cream a few hours after round one and it affected the healing massively, especially the top two thirds.
I finished off in a second session without it but parts of the skin still felt odd so I’m not sure they will ever be the same again! I may go back in and sort the red out one day but to be honest I think it’s best left.

My takeaway…. Numbing cream? Don’t do it! You are tougher than you think! Besides which, it’s only delaying the inevitable and when it wears off boy will you know it😫🫣 Artists rely on the feedback the skin is giving and it messed with that too, making it rubbery and strange to work on.

In my opinion you should let your body’s natural defences do their thang and not only will your adrenaline kick in and the pain plateau, but you will have an easier heal ☺️

Finally finished drawing this up for the lovely who’s daughter (and one of my favourite people on earth) is called Elodie Lily Rose O’Malley- I think I nailed the design 🥰

Having supportive friends helping me navigate my way through my anxiety and general brain malfunctions means the absolute world 🌍 I’m still exploring different styles and I cannot wait to get stuck into this. Oh and watch all the true crime while we are at it 😍🔪🫣

I have challenged myself to draw more while I figure out what I want to do next. Drawing is such an awesome escape for me and my silly brain. Although sometimes it can come in handy. Who else has a brain that sees things actually being other things? 😆🤪

I will post some colour versions of these at some point- but then again I may be too excited to move onto the next idea 😅 Today, The Simpsons. Who’s next?
