Great to be out promoting the “Tour de Trowbridge” community charity cycling event on 31st May in aid of Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity and stjohn_ambulance today at the excellent Trowbridge Weavers Market !

The streets and venues were packed and we were delighted to bump into the new mayor Stewart Palmén and deputy mayor Julie Vine, as well as other town councillors all helping to steward this very busy event.

It was lovely to speak to so many local small business owners and to see their stalls trading so well. Congratulations to the organisers and all who took part today.

This morning our volunteers were back out for the Salisbury Schools Mini Marathon 🏃

We are pleased to support this event every year alongside a large team of amazing event volunteers. With access to our purpose built mobile Treatment Centre as well as an ambulance kindly driven up by one of our colleagues from -EastDorset, we were able to provide safe and efficient treatment to a range of minor injuries.

We will be out again next Sunday for the Race for Men event on Hudson’s Field. Come and say hi if you see us! 💚

We are always proud of our staff and volunteers ♥️👏

A moment that reminds us why first aid matters 💛

Earlier today, one of our cadet volunteers came across a difficult situation — a vulnerable woman with complex needs had suffered a head injury and was in distress.

Stepping in calmly, they supported her carers, helped keep her safe and comfortable, provided first aid, and stayed with her until the ambulance crew arrived. Thankfully, she is now on her way to hospital and receiving the care she needs.

Moments like this don’t require superheroes — just people with the confidence, compassion, and training to act when it matters most.

At St John Ambulance Cadets, we’re proud to help young people build those life-saving skills and the confidence to use them in real situations.
