Some tattoos carry a story that goes far beyond the design 🤍
I had the absolute pleasure of tattooing these two beautiful pieces for a lovely customer who came in with such a thoughtful idea behind both.
🍄 The mushroom house
This one is a tribute to her Bamps — a little drawing he had made countless times over the years. Whenever he had something to draw on, he’d apparently end up drawing a mushroom house similar to this one. Hundreds of them, over the years. Most of his old drawings had sadly been thrown away, but her Nan managed to find what is believed to be the last surviving one.
So rather than creating something inspired by the memory, we were able to take the actual drawing and turn it into a permanent little piece of his legacy. 🥹🍄
💐 The bouquet
This one is for her Nan, and every detail has a meaning.
The freesias make up most of the bouquet because they’re her Nan’s favourite flower, with blue incorporated because it’s one of her favourite colours. The orchid is a little nod to Bamps too — the flower he would always give her for special occasions. With the last orchid he gifted her now beginning to fade after three years, it felt like the perfect time to sneak one into the design.
And, of course, a little purple had to make an appearance after Nan’s one request when she finally got to see the design. 💜
The whole thing was kept very secret until just a few days before the appointment, which made it even more special.
I absolutely loved tattooing these and hearing all the stories behind them. My customer was genuinely so lovely, funny and brilliant company, and it was one of those appointments where you leave feeling really grateful to be able to do what you do.
Thank you for trusting me with something so personal. 🤍
Two tattoos, two generations, and so much love woven into both. 🍄💐
