Dean came into Reach looking for work, ready to start straight away. Through collaboration between partners, he was quickly supported by Rhona from our TLC team, welcomed, and connected to opportunities on the day.

With SSP Group already on site interviewing for roles at John Lennon Airport, the team worked together to make sure Dean didn’t miss out, and he was offered an interview there and then.

A great example of what happens when services come together, put people first, and open doors.

Another fantastic outcome from our new Speke Support Hub at The Reach

After leaving a full‑time role in retail, Sarah came to TLC with a clear goal: to get back into work. Through consistent attendance, determination, and real focus on her next steps, she showed real commitment to making change happen.

With support from her coach Rhona Stanway AIEP, Sarah worked through job searching, confidence building, and interview preparation. After just 20 days, she secured an interview with Greggs, and with tailored research and preparation, she was successful.

This outcome is a real credit to Sarah’s motivation and persistence, combined with Rhona’s caring, practical coaching support. She’s now enjoying a positive work‑life balance and a fresh start.

👏 A brilliant early success for our Speke Support Hub at The Reach and a great example of what determination and the right support can achieve.

Usually Team TLC are spread around different corners of the city… last week we managed to get everyone in the same room.

Our team meeting gave us rare but much‑needed space to catch up properly, share conversations (and a few games), enjoy a wonderful lunch hand‑prepared by resident kitchen whizz James Sloan 🙌, and reflect on what’s been a period of growth and change for Transform Lives Company.

We shared updates on:
- The growing range of benefits we can offer employers

- The brilliant outcomes from our Grand National event

- Welcoming back returning team members from maternity leave

- How our Jobsplus & Speke hub with The Reach are developing

- And why we’re proud to be leading the way in place‑based employment support

Team meetings like this remind us how important that connection and communication is. not just in the work we do, but in how we support one another as a team, too.

Lots to be proud of. Lots still to build. And plenty of energy to take back out into the communities we work alongside.

This Sunday is International Women’s Day 2026, and we’re marking it with a series of free community events at Kelvin Grove.

Our Community Champions will be running support sessions for women in Toxteth, including a Menopause Support group and a discussion on how nutrition can support overall wellbeing.

We’ll also be joined by Cynthia from Tranquility Therapy, who will be offering free massages for the local community.

Our JobsPlus Community Champions are fantastic. In our latest blog, Mariam speaks about why place‑based employment support matters more than ever.

JobsPlus was recently recognised in Parliament for the difference it makes in local communities, especially for people who have been out of work for a long time. Her blog looks at the real impact behind that recognition: the small, everyday wins that help people rebuild trust, confidence and connection.

It also explores the importance of consistency in community‑based programmes, and why long‑term, stable funding is crucial for meaningful change.

Liam Hayward TLC was at Spider Project CIC today for the Burns Day celebrations, and was treated a fantastic on theme lunch of
Haggis, neeps & tatties, which were prepared and cooked by volunteer - and one of TLC's participants, Terri-Ann

Accompanying the food, was some beautiful poetry, songs and flowing conversations. Sadly, Liam, didn't have his clan’s tartan available to wear, so had to make do representing Clan TLC with the lanyard! 💜🩷💜

JobsPlus Toxteth had an amazing turnout last week at our latest Sizzle & Support: Warm Winter Welcome event! It was fantastic to meet so many new families from the community who weren’t aware of the support available in Liverpool 8.

As well as making sure everyone enjoyed some hot food and a warm drink, we connected families to job opportunities, wellbeing support from Wellbeing Enterprises and The Imaginarium, and shared dental hygiene resources from Koala NorthWest.

As the song says, “The weather outside is frightful,” but the atmosphere was incredible. Thank you to everyone in the community for supporting the hub, and congratulations to all our prize winners on the day!
