Facebook standards (and probably rightly so!) don't like us sharing pictures of some of the traumatic cases we have been pleased to support. These do make up a large part of our presenting case images and what to expect when using Aluco Guardian™ NPWT in Veterinary practice. Rather than limit our reach if you would like to see the full range of case studies, outcomes and practical applications please visit our website at www.alucohealth.com you can also sign up to our newsletter to get our latest cases in your inbox. No pressure just sharing the outcomes and experiences we are proud to facilitate with NPWT in Veterinary practice.

This is incredible value CPD from a fantastic team in a great location. Honoured to be a part of it. There's sessions for Vet Nurses on Saturday from just £90 for the day, and Vets on Sunday at just £120 for the day. Get up close and personal with the team at Aura and get insights on the latest techniques that you can tap into locally. This is not just about referral practice, but what you can do in first opinion to get the very best outcomes for your patients and clients. Really looking forward to attending and presenting sessions on both days! Thank you for the opportunity to share this day with you.
Georgie Hollis will be covering wound care secrets for Veterinary nurses (to help you outshine your team!) and options for challenging wounds for Vets on Sunday using the latest technologies with the resources available. Hope to see you there!

Building on the success of last year’s AURA Nursing Congress, the 2026 AURA Congress has been expanded into a two-day event, with dedicated programmes for veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons. This refined format reflects the essential role each discipline plays in delivering exceptional pati...

If you've not yet had a chance to see our Negative Pressure Therapy system in action there are a few places to meet us in June! Excited to be attending events at Central CPD on the 1st of June, AURA Veterinary congress 7-8 June and live on the 11th and 12th June. If you haven't yet discovered the power of negative pressure. Come and find us!

If you'd like to get hands on with the Aluco NPWT system through June 2026 we've got great news. We will be attending a range of events where delegates can try the system for real on our bespoke models that allow a realistic, guided experience of how to apply NPWT and the clinical benefits. We

In wound care, the real question is not just: what does this product cost?
It is: what does the full treatment pathway cost without it?
That means looking beyond the device itself and considering the wider burden of care: repeated dressing changes, repeated sedation or anaesthesia, longer hospital stays, delayed reconstruction, and the clinical time difficult wounds consume.
Published veterinary evidence supports a strong economic rationale for NPWT through improved wound progression, fewer dressing changes, better graft support, and potentially a faster route to closure.
That does not mean formal cost-effectiveness has been fully proven in every setting.
But it does mean the conversation should move beyond simple product price comparisons.
The cheapest component is not always the lowest-cost pathway.
We’re also publishing a more detailed article on this over on LinkedIn for those who want to explore the evidence and wider thinking in more depth.

Post-surgical wound breakdown over a mobile site can be difficult to manage — especially when exudate is high and progression is poor.
In this case, Aluco Guardian™ NPWT was used following dehiscence after wide-margin mast cell tumour excision over the stifle.
The goals were to:
• control high exudate
• stabilise the wound bed
• support healthy granulation
• prepare the site for reconstruction
Continuous therapy at 125 mmHg was maintained over the initial 3-day period, with the seal successfully maintained in this challenging anatomical location.
Following wound bed preparation, the Pavletic skin-stretching technique was used, achieving complete closure within one month.
A good example of where NPWT can help bridge the gap between wound breakdown and successful reconstruction.

Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) is increasingly being used in veterinary practice to manage complex wounds.
In clinical settings it is commonly used for:
• post-surgical wound breakdown
• traumatic wounds with significant exudate
• wounds requiring reconstruction or graft support
By maintaining a controlled wound environment and actively managing fluid, NPWT can support the development of healthy granulation tissue and help prepare wounds for closure.
Over the coming weeks we’ll be sharing real clinical cases showing how NPWT is being used in veterinary practice.

The Aluco Guardian™ NPWT system is designed to provide veterinary teams with a practical and portable solution for applying negative pressure wound therapy.
By delivering controlled negative pressure through a sealed dressing system, NPWT can assist with exudate management, reduction of oedema and the development of healthy granulation tissue.
This controlled wound environment can help clinicians manage complex wounds more effectively in a range of veterinary settings.
Over the coming weeks we’ll continue sharing clinical cases demonstrating how NPWT is being used in veterinary practice.

Case Insight: Necrotising Fasciitis
Necrotising fasciitis can be one of the most aggressive soft-tissue infections seen in veterinary surgery. Rapid tissue destruction, severe oedema and heavy exudate can make wound stabilisation extremely challenging.
In this case referred to Aura Veterinary, the patient presented with severe limb swelling, patchy skin necrosis and extensive soft-tissue damage associated with Streptococcus dysgalactiae infection.
Following surgical debridement, Aluco Guardian™ Negative Pressure Wound Therapy was applied at –125 mmHg continuous pressure.
Over the following 72 hours, therapy helped:
• Control exudate and fluid burden
• Reduce oedema in surrounding tissues
• Improve tissue quality
• Establish a granulating wound bed suitable for reconstruction
Negative pressure therapy is increasingly being used across veterinary wound management — particularly in complex infection, traumatic wounds, surgical dehiscence and reconstructive cases.
If your practice is exploring NPWT for challenging wounds, we’re always happy to discuss cases or provide guidance. Visit our website or contact us to book a demo.

Severe bite wounds. Infection risk. Delayed presentation.
This working collie presented with multiple puncture wounds and a large tissue deficit following a dog fight — already several days old, with non-viable tissue and systemic illness on admission.
After stabilisation and surgical debridement, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) was used to support progression in a challenging location.
NPWT was applied for 3 days initially, followed by a second 3-day cycle.
The result:
• Rapid reduction in inflammation
• Significant improvement in wound health at first dressing change
• Strong granulation tissue formation
• A considerably smaller, more manageable wound within 6 days
The patient tolerated therapy well, becoming more comfortable and returning to normal behaviour during treatment.
This is where NPWT fits in practice —
not replacing surgery, but accelerating the pathway to closure in complex, contaminated wounds.

If you’re managing bite wounds, infected defects or delayed presentations and want to understand where NPWT may help:
