This week I have been away for my first proper holiday in 8 years! It’s so important to get outside explore and do what you love as often it goes hand in hand with exercise often doing it without thinking!

I ended up doing more steps (and laughing!) than I usually would and there was a lotttt of cardio!l and endurance involved!

- Day one: 23 miles riding off-road on the bike with almost a mile of fairly steep elevation and 22322 steps

- Day two: we went out and explored, did some touristy bits saw the beautiful Whitby abbey and clocked up nearly another 16000 steps also climbing another 200+ stairs (the stairmaster at the gym has been paying off😂)

Today and tomorrow will be spent relaxing properly and then Sunday off to Wembley for another busy day with family and then it’s back to work again Monday seeing all my lovely clients 🫶🏻☺️

The world is moving at an ever increasing speed.

We have everything on demand and we are constantly told we won’t reach our goals if we don’t do x y and z every day burning ourselves out in the process (which is usually the sort of stupid advice given to us by influencers that pay for most of their results)

it’s so easy to compare yourself to others feeling as if you’re not doing as much or as well as them

- But what if I told you slowing down for a while could be the most important thing you could do?

I really like the quote:
“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast – you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.” A quote written by Eddie Cantor, a famous American actor and comedian born in 1892

By doing exactly this I have recently beaten a personal best which is cool, but also I’ve seen the positive impact slowing down has had with several of my clients as they have said other Pt’s have put them off exercising as they felt they were being made to do too much, reminding themselves that longevity and consistency go hand in hand, but sometimes you have to slow down a little to really appreciate what you’re doing;

Methodical lifting

Breathing regulation

Celebrating your small wins

But above all

CONSISTENCY

regardless if you turn up and do 10 minutes a few times a week I promise you’ll see the benefits in the long run.

Who says you can’t go exploring with your clients and friends?!

Most of my clients have become good pals so I’ve been out and about with some of them recently!

I have also been busy volunteering, supporting less fortunate elderly folk, my clients, my friends and my family etc, so this weekend I had a bit of down time and treated myself!

Because what’s the point in all this training if we can’t enjoy life to the fullest!

Longevity and living a quality life for most people is all about balance and that’s exactly what I’m trying to promote as so many fall for social media “experts” scare mongering about consumables telling them to over restrict themselves and signing up to chat gpt plans often making them feel miserable in the process.

This is NOT my approach;

I want to teach you the ways to manage your whole life, no heavy restrictions, just you feeling more confident in the decisions you make day to day and what to do if things do get a little out of hand

YOU ARE HUMAN we are not perfect and that’s absolutely ok!💪🏻

P.s made me the best pizza I’ve had today it was incredible 😍

Well I decided to join tonight’s “stronger” class as I’ve had a week off working out myself, it was…Ermm…interesting😂

Was cracking up creating this, sorry Ryan and I couldn’t resist 😭🤣

Thought I’d see what this hyrox style circuit training is all about after slating anything that resembles CrossFit😂, I still dislike running as I’ve had knee and hip issues for years from the bikes, but I’m slowly improving through physio (I have worked with three physios and two people that do sports massage as I’m determined to feel better 😂) definitely need to find the sweet spot between strength training, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance based fitness, I’m probably the strongest I’ve ever been as a whole but my cardio is now beginning to suffer as reflected in my time 😂 But hey this is well outside of my normal style of training being hypertrophy, but again you don’t know until you try these things, it’s all about stepping outside of your comfort zone in order to figure these things out and see what you’re truly capable of! 💪🏻

Fact Friday: So another thing I enjoy doing as a hobby is a little bit of photography, I’ve also begun getting into videography which is next on my list to learn and really what I’ve sought to do for years, but here are a few snaps I took recently for Adventurers’ Getaway!quite happy with how these came out (even if Facebook does compress them and alter quality a little!)☺️

Today me and my friend Will the Web Developer popped down the town to CoLab Diss for a little networking lunch, what a fantastic idea to provide a space where people can offer and trade services between one another, in an economy where people are struggling, having the ability to trade services between us can be a fantastic way to learn new skills “upskilling” yourself and can help to gain some affordable help as well as being a great place to advertise small local businesses.

They will eventually have a space to rent for meetings and working/studying as well as a space for kids and young adults to hang out and relax too, what a great idea!
