1.Will a VersaSpa tan turn me orange? NO! The VersaSpa has come a long way since the original and older style machines. The VersaSpa will give you a beautiful, natural bronze tan in light, medium, or even dark shades!
2. How long will my tan last? The skin’s natural process of exfoliating is the number one cause for the loss of your tan. Typically, a sunless tan will last 5 to 7 days. You will see results before you leave the salon, but this is mainly bronzer. Your lasting results will are within the first hour of doing the VersaSpa. The solution will continue to develop for 12-24 hours after you complete your session as long as you don’t shower in that time frame. The length of your tan depends on your skin and the overall condition of your skin. The more hydrated and healthy your skin is, the longer your tan lasts. The VersaSpa tan is created by DHA and Erythulose and absorbs into the top layer of the skin only.
3. How long does it take? The whole process including change and prep time, takes around 10 minutes. The Versa Spa process takes approximately 1-3 minutes depending on which combination of spray chosen.
4. What are the prep and moisturizing sprays? Do I need them? The prep spray is sprayed onto your body before the bronzing solution. The prep helps to create balance the pH in your skin and allows your skin to absorb as much of the bronzing solution as possible. The moisturizing spray moisturizer that is applied through the Versa Spa. Is formulated to enhance the bronzer that was applied and helps to keep your skin hyrated. The best way to keep a lasting tan is to have hydrated and healthy skin.
5. Can I use it when I’m pregnant? Yes, the VersaSpa is safe for pregnant women to use. If you have specific concern it is best to consult your doctor.
6. How do I prepare for my VersaSpa session?
• Exfoliate the night or day prior
• Shower prior to your Versa Spa
• Shave, wax, or tweeze as needed
• Be free of make-up, perfume, oil, body sprays, deodorant and moisturizer for the best results.
• Bring loose fitting, dark clothing for after your session.
7. Should I moisturize before I VersaSpa? It is not recommended to apply moisturizers 3 hours prior to your VersaSpa session and at least 6 hours afterward. A moisturizer applied immediately prior to or following your VersaSpa session can reduce the effectiveness of the DHA (the active self tanning ingredient). A moisturizer applied immediately after your session could cause streaking. Only salon approved moisturizer should be used, such as Daily performance lotion by VersaSpa.
8. How long should I wait after I VersaSpa before I shower? For best results allow a minimum of 8 ours to showering and up to 24 hours. The longer you wait to shower (up to 24 hours) the deeper your colour with turn in addition to a longer lasting tan in most cases.
9. Can I VersaSpa in addition to a tanning bed? Yes you can! You will want to tan first but only use the VersaSpa Aplifier Tanning Gel instead of your typical indoor tanning lotion. After your tan, simply head to the VersaSpa for your session. Getting a base tan or already having a base tan only enhances the overall look of a VersaSpa tan
10. If I tan prior to my VersaSpa is there lotion I should avoid using? Yes, Avoid any lotion that has silicone in it. For best results use VersaSpa Aplifier Prep Gel.
11. Will the solution from the VersaSpa® come off on my clothes? Only the cosmetic tint or “bronzer” could come off on your clothing. In most cases this will wash right out however, we still advise wearing lose fitting, dark clothing to be safe.
12. Will my VersaSpa® protect me from the sun when I am on vacation? No! although you will look tan and feel that you have a natural tan, a sunless tan will not protect your skin from burning. Always use sunblock…. Especially when heading to coastal areas!
13. Do I need to wear eye wear in the VersaSpa®? You are not required to wear protective wear but you do want to close your eyes. You can also use a pair of tanning goggles or throw-away eye stickers if you prefer.
14. Can I breathe when I’m in the unit? Absolutely! The VersaSpa is open concept where you are not fully enclosed inside the VersaSpa, therefore, fresh air flows in and around you. Most people do hold their breath when the solution is applied to their face.
15. Is the solution safe for sensitive skin? Yes it is. The solution is 70% natural comprising of a sugar cane derivative. The VersaSpa is recommended for all skin types.
16. Will the solution dye or damage my hair? How do I protect it? Most places such as Be Tan provide you with a hair cap or net to protect your hair during application of the solutions. This is not due to discoloring or damage of your hair but to keep your hair dry
17. I have a hot tub, can I use it after having a VersaSpa® spray tan? It is recommended to avoid any chlorinated water such as pools or hot tubs however, salt water pools or hot tubs are ok. Swimming in a chlorinated pool with cause your VersaSpa tan to fade faster. If you do wish to use a pool or a hot tub, do so only 24 hours after receiving your VersaSpa spray tan.
18. Does the tan fade naturally? Yes, the VersaSpa spray tan fades very naturally. It isn’t splotchy or patchy when coming off.
19. Will shaving affect my VersaSpa® spray tan? Yes slightly. Only because shaving helps to exfoliate your skin and this is a cause for your tan to fade a bit.
20. Will the VersaSpa® leave me streaky and blotchy? Not at all! The VersaSpa offers the finest misting in the industry and it truly goes on like an airbrush. If provides consistent streak free coverage. Do make sure you haven’t put on any lotions prior to the VersaSpa.
21. How long before my special event should I do my VersaSpa® session? We recommend 24 hours prior to a special event so that your tan has time to develop and you can shower as usual when getting ready.
22. Do the sprays have any unpleasant odors? No, there is only a very light scent during and after the VersaSpa session.
23. Will I get an even all around color? Yes, the mist is very fine and will give you a just off the beach look. Excluding the underarms that is!
24. Mystic tan made me feel boxed in, is this one more comforting? Yes, the VersaSpa is an open air concept, therefore you have fresh air coming in and around you at all times.
25. Will the VersaSpa® wipe off if its still tacky and you put your clothes on? No, you have multiple drying passes with the VersaSpa that takes care of any residual moisture. It is safe to dress immediately afterward and there’s no need to towel off either.
26. Can I do more than one in a day? It is best to wait a minimum of 48 hours between sessions so that your first session can fully develop before you decide if you want to go darker.
27. Is it a machine (booth) or a person that does it? Is the room private? The VersaSpa is an airbrush machine that does not require an employee to assist in the application of your color. It is an open air concept but always in a private room.
28. Will it cause my freckles to show if I normally freckle when I tan? No, freckles do not increase in color or show up more. In many cases they show up less.
29. Is it confusing? How do you know what to do? We first have an employee explain the process to you, in addition the VersaSpa guides you step by step and there are instructions on the wall for visual learners.
30. Will it work if I have very fair skin or if I am unable to tan in regular tanning beds? Yes, the VersaSpa gives beautiful results on all skin types.
31. What do I wear in the booth? You may wear as little or as much as you like. If you want to see a tan line, wear a swimsuit and if you don’t want any, you may go nude.
32. Do I have a choice of how dark I will be? Yes, the VersaSpa has light, medium, and dark options.
33. Do I have to take off my make up? Can I put make up on afterwards? For best results, remove make-up prior to your VersaSpa session and wait at least 6-8 hours before re-applying.
