💜 Volunteer Spotlight – Paul 💜
For the past nine years, Paul has been part of the DICE Enterprise family. But over the last three years – and especially during the past 18 months – we’ve seen an incredible transformation in his confidence, independence and willingness to take on new challenges.
Paul has become an invaluable volunteer at our weekly karaoke evenings. From confidently running the DJ booth and managing the music, to operating the laptop and sound system, introducing singers on the microphone and encouraging others to get involved, he plays a huge part in creating a fun, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone.
Through volunteering, Paul has developed valuable technology skills, learnt how to use karaoke software, organise music, manage playlists and support the smooth running of the evening. He’s also built important social and communication skills by interacting with members, welcoming performers and taking on real responsibility.
One of the most inspiring parts of Paul’s journey has been watching his confidence grow when speaking on the microphone. Taking on this role has helped him become more confident in his communication and has supported him in overcoming challenges with his speech. Today, he speaks with pride, encourages others to take part and helps make every karaoke night a success.
At DICE Enterprise, we believe that with the right opportunities, encouragement and support, people can achieve far more than they ever imagined. Paul’s journey is a wonderful example of how meaningful volunteering can build confidence, develop life skills, create friendships and empower people to reach their full potential.
