🩵Over the past week at Applecroft, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of engaging and meaningful activities that support both wellbeing and enjoyment for our residents. 🩵
💜We have been using sensory aids, which are especially important for individuals living with dementia, as they help to stimulate the senses, encourage interaction, and provide comfort. 💜
❤️Residents have also been getting creative with spring-inspired colouring, offering a relaxing way to express themselves while celebrating the season. ❤️
🌻We’ve made visits to our seasonal springtime pod, creating a calm and immersive environment, and have taken gentle walks in the garden where everyone could explore different flowers using their senses—smelling, touching, and observing the colours around them. 🌼
🧡One of the highlights was our “jelly balance” game—while no one quite managed to complete the challenge, it sparked plenty of laughter and curiosity, making it a fun and memorable experience. 🧡
💚We also spent time planting a variety of seeds, giving residents the opportunity to connect with nature and look forward to seeing their growth in the coming weeks. We also have a lovely duck who visits our gardens each spring💚
💛To round things off, we were delighted to welcome a wonderful singer, Jasmine, whose performance brought residents and their relatives together for a lively party atmosphere that everyone truly enjoyed.💛
🇬🇧This Friday, to celebrate VE Day we are having an indoor street party. We have decorated our tearooms and are planning to have the most wonderful afternoon (photos to follow)
So please do come and join us for a party with music, food, drinks and most importantly, laughter! 🇬🇧
