PART-TIME CARERS WANTED - Gilbert Court Extra Care

Everyone you're supporting is under one roof. No driving between calls, no mileage forms, no arguing with a sat-nav in the rain. If you can get yourself to Charford, you can do this job.

Shifts that work with the school day (7am to 1pm OR 4pm to 10pm), working shift patterns across two weeks, Week One, Monday Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and Week 2, Thursday & Friday. Full training given. Experience is lovely, but kindness and reliability matter more — we can teach the rest.

The heat is on, and this one's serious. An amber alert means health and social care services are likely to feel real pressure, with the biggest risks falling on people over 65 and those with existing health conditions.

So if you're fit, well and coping fine — this bit's for you. Please check on your elderly and infirm neighbours, friends and relatives over the next few days. A knock on the door, a phone call, a jug of cold squash and ten minutes of company can make an enormous difference. Older people often don't feel thirsty even when they need fluids, and many won't want to "make a fuss" by asking for help.

There are some practical tips on the graphic below to help everyone Beat the Heat 👇 — but honestly, the most important thing on the list isn't on the list at all. It's simply being a good friend and neighbour.

We're looking for a Team Leader to support our care staff out in the community — coaching them, checking in on them, and rolling up your sleeves alongside them when the day calls for it.

What you'll actually be doing
✅ Supporting and supervising a team of care workers
✅ Spot checks, supervisions, and helping new starters find their feet
✅ Keeping care plans accurate, current and genuinely person-centred
✅ Hands-on care when it's needed — we all muck in
✅ Sharing the on-call rota with the wider team

What we're after
✅ Solid experience in care — Level 3 Diploma, or working towards it
✅ Full driving licence and your own vehicle (essential — we cover a wide patch)
✅ Calm under pressure, kind by default
✅ Good with people. Decent with paperwork.

We're not looking for perfect. We're looking for someone who cares, and who'll help others care well.
