Every year my brother, nephew and I disappear to Scotland for a few days.

Whisky gets discussed.

Ci**rs get discussed.

Plans get discussed.

Laughter muscles get stretched.

Time away from home has a way of reminding us how important rituals and bonds can be. There can be something almost magical about stepping away from everyday life for a few days, reconnecting with people who matter, and returning refreshed.

Rejuvenation complete.

I’m available once again for online sessions from next week.

Twenty-six years ago I arrived in Hong Kong with no idea how much of my life would unfold here.

When I left in 2020, people often asked why. My answer was always the same: "She's no longer the girl I fell in love with."

This visit has been different. There have been glimpses of the Hong Kong I used to know; the friendships, the community, the trails, the conversations and those unexpected moments that reminded me why this place became so important in the first place.

Tomorrow I fly again, but this time with a return ticket.

See you in September.

Four days left in Hong Kong.

I originally came here for work many years ago.

Somewhere along the way, Hong Kong stopped feeling like just a city and started feeling like home.

Over the years I’ve watched friends build lives here, relationships here, families here.

This hike was with one of those friends, who first came to Hong Kong years ago to work with me at The Sanctuary.

Now we’re hiking with his son casually photobombing what was supposed to be a reflective skyline photo 😂

That probably says more about Hong Kong than anything else I could write.

As this visit comes to an end, I still have a small number of private sessions available before I leave next week.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out before I go, feel free to message me.

It’s my final week in Hong Kong for this visit.

What’s strange is that even after leaving 6 years ago, my life still genuinely exists here.

Yesterday I was walking back from the beach through Lamma to get the ferry and got stopped over and over again by old friends wanting a hug, a handshake, or just a quick catch up.

Not clients.
Just life.

And that’s always been the difference with Hong Kong for me.

After more than 20 years connected to this place, it never became somewhere I simply worked.

It became part of who I am.

Even now, I can barely walk through Central without bumping into somebody I know.

Old friends.
Old conversations.
New chapters.

This city has a way of continuing your story whether you planned for it or not.

I’ll be heading back to the UK shortly, but I already have my return flight booked and will be back again in September.

Before I go, I have a small number of private sessions still available this week for anyone wanting to work together in person before I leave.

There’s often one small moment in the day that changes the direction of everything.

A message.
A look.
A delay.
A decision.
A conversation you weren’t expecting.

The first response can happen quickly, before the thinking mind has even caught up.

And then there is a small gap.

Pause.
React.
Reset.
Speak differently.
Walk away.
Let it pass.

Not because everything suddenly becomes easy.

But because that moment can change the way you move through what happens next.

The question to ask is:

What choice can I make in this moment that expands who I am, brings me closer to my potential, and allows me to find more life, lightness or even fun in the way I experience it?

There’s a common belief that meaningful change always has to take a long time.

Sometimes it does.

But not always.

The length of time someone has carried something doesn’t automatically determine how long it takes to change.

The more important question is whether the response connected to it can shift.

When that happens, change can sometimes be much quicker than people expect.

I wrote more about why real change can sometimes happen in a single session, and why it depends less on time and more on the way the response updates.

What was originally planned as a shorter stay in Hong Kong has now extended further into May.

Monday 11th is already fully booked, and there is now only one session remaining on Tuesday 12th.

It’s been a genuinely interesting few months working here privately again.
A lot of meaningful conversations, strong referrals, and people finding me in unexpected ways, including increasingly through search and Ai!

For anyone still looking to work together in person while I’m in Hong Kong, availability is now becoming quite limited.

A lot of people work on themselves
by trying to manage how they feel

Staying calm
Thinking differently
Keeping things under control
Distracting themselves

It can work… to a point

But the response underneath is still there

Which is why it comes back
in the same situations
in the same way

Working on yourself at a deeper level is different

The focus isn’t on managing the response
It’s on changing it

That’s the work I do with people one-to-one

So the situation can stay the same

But what used to trigger something
doesn’t

Not because it’s handled better
But because there’s nothing there to handle

That’s the difference between managing something
and resolving it

If you want to resolve something rather than keep managing it

I’m coming to the end of this part of the tour in Hong Kong.

I’ve opened some in-person session times between now and May 7th.

If working together in person has been on your mind, now's a good time to take one of these.

You’re not stuck.

You’re repeating the same response.

Different situations.
Same reaction.

That’s why it keeps showing up.

When the response changes, it stops.

If you want that to change, message me.
