So...what did our wee Brain Injury group get up to on Thurs 20th August? First, we were given a guided tour of the Transport Museum by two tour guides, and had lunch there while we were at it. Tour guides were great. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riverside_Museum Then with that over, hey ho, we all boarded a speedboat and fired up and down the River Clyde for a wee while! This was an extraordinary thing for a group like ours to do, and lent to a very memorable day for all of us. It was a day that gave us a confidence in our unity, educated us about transport, fed us, and had us bang out in the fresh air on a thrilling boat ride(!)...what's NOT to like? It was an absoloutely brilliant day.
And aye, it was Ian's birthday! I don't think he had powering up and down the Clyde in a speedboat in his original plans for the day...😆

MORE PHOTOS ADDED!! Hey up! Last week we had an open visit to the Botanic Gardens. It was my (John C) idea to go there...on a day almost 30 degrees hot, walking through a giant greenhouse! 😆 Well, some of us still went! It was quite a glorious, if somewhat sweaty, day out! We lunched, then went for a tour of the Gardens with a tour guide, who was in fact a most senior person in Friends of Botanic Gardens. I understand he was on Radio 4 'Gardners World' last weekend, so we were definitely with the right person!
We learned so much, saw so much, and ... well, what a day! Our resident photographer, Alex Craig, was working elsehwere that day, so not so many photos of people, which Alex is superb at.

Tomorrow we have a wee open visit to the Botanic Gardens and area. The Oran Mor is just across the road, me might lunch there, nearby, or in the Botanic Tearoom. It's going to be a lovely day. So if you've been unsure, or I (John) have not informed you properly of the event, any BIEN member can meet us at Dalmuir Station at 10 to 11 tomorrow morning (10:50) because some of us are leaving from there.

Hello folks. Here's the Newsletter! Coming up, we have a Get Together and a visit to the Botanic Gardens the day after. Please note this will be just an open visit, it has not been possible to organise an open Botanics guided tour due to the booking system. FULL details of Thursdays trip will be revealed on Wednesday, so please turn up! Meanwhile, we'll be leaving the Concorde at 11 on Thursday, we can do rail and underground or just plain old taxis to get there, and we will lunch in the Botanics Tearoom or nearby eatery. All up for discussion, make sure you get along to the Get Together on Wednesday to take part in its planning...now the Newsletter!
