I’m hosting a small soundbath this Sunday and there are a few spaces left ✨

It’s something I’ve created for anyone who needs a moment to slow down, breathe, and gently reset.

No pressure, no expectations — just a warm, welcoming space to rest.

Who has met a teen like this?

It can be pretty exhausting in the face of such indifference from someone you care so much about.

The truth is, sometimes emotions are SO huge that it is too hard for someone still learning communication skills to express their wants and needs clearly and sensitively.

All you really want is some help to safely guide them as they grow and challenge boundaries.

The challenges of being a teen today are no joke, even if the character of Lauren is meant to be funny.

Ever felt like you might as well be talking to yourself?

You're busy talking, giving explanations, asking questions, beiing super helpful and explaining how to make progress. So, you're giving instructions... Giving instructions... Giving instructions... and you might as well be a mime or shouting into the wind because they just aren't bothered. Talking to teens (& stubborn co-workers!) can definitely be like talking to a brick wall!

The truth is, sometimes brains reach 'full capacity' and anything non-essential is cast aside. You're not being actively ignored (although it may feel like it, and it can really hurt).

The truth is they've got bigger stuff going on and your asks aren't going to get answered until their needs are met and they're back into a state of increased resilience. (That's not a reflection on you, it's about their internal landscape.)

All you really want is to have a teen who has someone safe that they are happy to share their worries with.

I've been there trying to get heard and wondering what I was doing wrong. It wasn't about me and I stepped away from the wall (Thankfully!)

It's okay to be scared of the unexpected or unknown. This is a whole new time in your life.

We all have fear. (Even the ones who look like they don't.)

You can tap out, bottle up and try to ignore those feelings... Or, you can move through them so they aren't holding you back.

I'm in love. A random find in the cupboard, leftover from the gift basket my mum prepared for our wedding weekend, and it is soooo good on my croissant.

I have a slow breakfast with yummy pastries almost every Wednesday morning. It's an indulgent treat and the most perfect pause in the middle of the week.

Starting the day slowly helps me regroup from the first half of the week and refocus my energies on what matters for the remainder of the week. I make my mind up and I go for it. (The pastry is just the cherry on top of that 🤤🤩)

Planner and phone join me for my second cup of tea, and then I refine the plan for the day in my head while I finish getting ready.

It's so easy to rush into Getting Stuff Done without noticing what we're eating (or doing!), or even what direction we're rushing in.

Before I know it, I can be multi-tasking four things poorly, forgetting the only time sensitive task and being an unfocused driven rushed & unpurposeful me.

Where are you directing your energies today? Do you know?

What would a pause and a refocus do for your day. What would it do for your week? What would it do for your loved ones?
