A year ago today, our lives changed forever.

After hours of uncertainty, Charlie was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

We were rushed to Edinburgh clinging to hope. Hope that there would be a treatment. Hope that there would be a plan. Hope that everything was somehow going to be okay.

The next day that hope was taken away.

We were told Charlie had DIPG.

A diagnosis no parent should ever have to hear and one that changed our world in an instant.

There are many things from those days that we will never forget, but one sentence will stay with us for the rest of our life’s.

“Go and make memories.”

At the time, those words felt impossible to comprehend.

But that’s exactly what we did.

We made memories.

We laughed.
We travelled.
We watched football.
We celebrated birthdays.
We spent time together.
We loved every second we could with our incredible boy.

Through it all, Charlie faced everything with a courage and bravery that still amazes us today.

Even on the hardest days, he carried that huge smile that everyone knew and loved.

Today is a difficult day for our family, but more than anything, today we remember Charlie.

Not his diagnosis.

Not his illness.

Charlie.

The football-mad boy with the biggest heart and the brightest smile.

Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever our Charlie. 🩵
