⚠️ TREND ALERT - Absolutely not my work!
❤️ Not every beauty trend is a good idea… and some can leave LONG-TERM damage that’s difficult or impossible to reverse.Just because something is viral on TikTok does NOT mean it’s safe, professional or suitable for your skin. Your face is not a trend. Treatments & trends to think twice about:
❌ Overlined cosmetic tattoo lips
Can heal unevenly, migrate outside the lip border, turn grey/orange over time and distort the natural lip shape. You will never be able to have laser treatment as Pigment can darken or change colour. Some pigments may oxidise when exposed to laser heat, turning grey, black, blue, or orange.
❌ Faux freckles tattooing
May blur, fade patchy, change colour and age poorly as the skin changes over the years. You will never be able to have laser treatment as Pigment can darken or change colour
Some pigments may oxidise when exposed to laser heat, turning grey, black, blue, or orange.
❌ Under-eye concealer tattooing
The under-eye area is EXTREMELY delicate. Risks can include migration, colour changes, scarring, prolonged swelling and difficulty removing pigment later.
❌ BB Glow may look appealing on social media with its “flawless filtered skin” effect… but many people don’t realise the possible long-term risks involved. BB Glow involves implanting tinted pigment or serum into the skin using microneedling techniques. The problem is… our skin changes over time, but the pigment doesn’t always fade evenly.
❌ Hairline microblading
Often looks unnatural as real hair patterns change. Pigment can blur and create harsh visible lines in daylight.
❌ “Nose contour” tattooing
Semi-permanent contouring can migrate, fade unevenly and leave shadows or unnatural tones that are difficult to correct.
Possible long-term concerns:
* Pigment migration
* Scarring
* Infection
* Allergic reactions
* Uneven fading
* Discolouration over time
* Skin texture changes
* Difficulty removing pigment
* Psychological impact from poor cosmetic outcomes
❤️ If you have any of these treatments You will never be able to have laser sessions or heat related treatments performed as pigment can darken or change colour. Some pigments may oxidise when exposed to laser heat, turning grey, black, blue, or orange. Is it really worth it for the sake of beauty trends. Good aesthetics should ENHANCE your natural beauty not leave you needing years of correction work. Remember that not everything that is taught is educated. Not everything that is popular is progress.
❤️Treatments that can potentially react with cosmetic tattoo pigments include:
* Fractional CO2 laser
* IPL
* Q-switched lasers
* P ico laser
* RF microneedling
