There’s More to Breathe Than Weekly Classes…

On Sunday we hosted our second Pilates Hen Party, with our Reformer Studio decorated by Rebecca’s lovely friends before a private session with Robyn. 🤍

But that’s just one of the ways people use our space.

•Private Reformer sessions
• 1:1 Yoga or Pilates with Susan or Robyn
•Small group sessions with friends (share the cost and make it your own)
•Workplace wellbeing mornings with Pilates, Yoga or Reformer

Shoulder mobility, flexibility and strength.

They aren’t all the same.

You can have flexible shoulders without having the strength to control them.

You can be strong, but lack the mobility to move well.

And you can have good mobility, but not enough flexibility in the surrounding muscles to access it comfortably.

That’s why Yoga and Pilates aren’t just about stretching. They’re about connection. Teaching the whole body to work together, not just forcing a bigger range of motion.

Whether you’re lifting weights, training for HYROX, running, swimming, carrying children, or simply wanting to reach the top shelf without wincing, healthy shoulders matter.

And here’s something many people don’t know…

Frozen shoulder affects around 2-5% of the population, but almost 70% of cases occur in women, with peak onset between 40 and 60 years of age.

Movement can’t guarantee prevention, but maintaining strength, mobility and body awareness can help keep our shoulders moving well for life.

Because movement isn’t just about performance.

It’s about preserving the freedom to do the things you love for longer.

🚨 6am Mat Pilates with Sophie - Your Calm Start to the Day 🚨

Our Thursday early morning Mat Pilates has had a little makeover… and this is its final one.

🕕 New time: 6am
⏱️ New length: 50 minutes

We’ve listened to feedback and shortened the class to help those who need to get to work afterwards. Same great class, just a little easier to fit into your morning.

And then there’s Sophie…

If the thought of someone screaming “FEEL THE BURN!” at you before sunrise fills you with dread, don’t worry. Sophie is the complete opposite. No boot camp. No shouting.

Just a calm, friendly and welcoming start to your day.

But don’t mistake quiet for easy…

Behind that lovely smile is a girl with an uncanny ability to make your core tremble and your glutes question their life choices 🤣. Sophie’s classes have a habit of reminding you they happened for the next day or two!

So if you’ve been thinking about trying it, now’s the time.

This really is a use it or lose it situation. We’d love to keep this class on the timetable, but we need your support to make that happen.

Come and start your day with movement, good company and a little bit of sneaky suffering disguised as Pilates. 😉

Weekly Round-Up & Week Ahead

Firstly, a huge thank you to all the teachers who covered my classes while I was on holiday. It was very much needed and very much enjoyed! ❤️

🧘‍♀️ Yoga
This week we focused on Chair Pose. I thought I’d planned a nice, gentle “back to class” week… apparently not! 🤣

💪 Pilates
Bodyweight was on the menu. No props, no gimmicks, just good old alignment and controlled movement.

🌿 NEOM & Bolster Pop-Up
A big success! Thank you to everyone who came along. I’ll get another one in the diary soon.

One of my own classes was VERY quiet this week… Friday Flow Yoga.

Inspired by the story of Maeve, known as The Weaver of Light, this deeply restful Yoga Nidra explores the lingering golden evenings of June, the energy of the Strawberry Moon, and the wisdom of trusting what is already present rather than constantly seeking what comes next.
Through guided relaxation, breath awareness, sensory imagery and storytelling, you'll be invited to soften the nervous system, release tension and rest in the fullness of the season.

Tonight, our lovely Olivia taught her final Hot Class at Breathe, and we are so sad to see her go. 💛

From day one, Olivia brought such a beautiful energy to the studio and to every class she taught. While we’re sad to say goodbye, we completely understand that with changes to her work circumstances, the journey from Kilsyth is no longer practical. Another local studio will be very lucky to have her.

Olivia, thank you. Although our time together was short, you’ve achieved so much here. You taught your very first Mat Pilates class, your first Hot class and your first Reformer classes at Breathe, and we’ve loved watching your confidence and skills grow.

We know this isn’t goodbye forever, just the next chapter, and we have no doubt you’ll continue to do amazing things and touch many more lives through your teaching.

Thank you for everything, Olivia. We wish you all the happiness and success in the world. ✨

Meet Sophie 💛

Relatively new to Breathe, Sophie may be quiet, but she’s definitely effective! Don’t let that innocent smile fool you… I’ve been reliably informed that she can have your core saying “hello” for days after class. We like you to remember us 🤣

Sophie’s classes are welcoming, encouraging and just the right amount of challenging.
