Gateshead Council Learning and Skills are delighted to be recruiting for their next cohort of Supported Interns (September 2026)

A Supported Internship is a learning programme with work experience. It is designed to help and support young people (16-24 years of age) who have a learning disability or other special educational need gain the skills and experience needed to move into paid employment. Approx. 70% of Interns progress to paid employment of at least 16 hours a week.

We will be holding our final Interest Event on Wednesday the 24th of June at 5pm at Gateshead Civic Centre. At the event young people, parents, carers and professionals will be able to hear about Supported Internships and the Supported Internship programme offered by Learning and Skills.

Registration is easy- either scan the QR code and complete the form, email or phone us to reserve a place.
