Having boundaries.
Making time for yourself.
A five minutes to massage your face before bed.
Booking the facial instead of constantly putting yourself last.
Embracing the things that come with aging.

Because maybe getting older isn’t about trying to look younger . . . Maybe it’s about becoming more comfortable with who you are, knowing what you need and caring a little less about what everyone else thinks.

And honestly? I think that’s pretty chic. 🤍

“𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲. 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.”

We were in Italy for 8 days and, if I’m completely honest, I wasn’t the trip I had hoped.

The days leading up to our holiday were already stressful, and I genuinely thought once we got on the flight, I’d be able to switch off. Relax. Enjoy the break. Enjoy family time.

But things hit differently in perimenopause.

I don’t know whether it was the heat, the exhaustion, the constant questions from my son and husband (sometimes at the same time 🙈), or just everything I’d already been carrying before we left.

But I felt overwhelmed. Snappy. Irritable. Angry.

And the hardest part? I felt like I couldn’t control it. Every little thing felt like one thing too many.

There were moments when I honestly thought, “What is wrong with me?”

I didn’t recognise the woman I was being.

And I think this is one of the hardest parts of perimenopause that we don’t talk about enough.

It’s not just the hot flushes or changes to your cycle.

Sometimes it’s the rage. The anxiety. The overwhelm. The feeling that your emotional capacity has suddenly disappeared.

You can be somewhere beautiful.
You can be on holiday.
You can be surrounded by the people you love.

…and still feel like you’re barely holding it together.

And maybe you’ve had days like this too?

Where you’ve snapped at the people you love, felt irrationally angry over something tiny, then felt guilty afterwards and wondered:

“Why am I behaving like this? This isn’t me.”

Maybe it is you. . . . Or maybe it’s a version of you who has simply been carrying too much, for too long, while your hormones are changing underneath you.

Because honestly… how many of us are walking around wondering, “Is it just me?” when actually, so many of us are feeling exactly the same? ❤️

Have you ever had a day where you just haven’t felt like yourself?

✨ A facial massage is about so much more than glowing skin.

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a facial massage workshop with a lovely group of women aged 50+, and it was such a joy to watch everyone slow down, soften, and just… be.

It reminded me that self-care really doesn’t come with an age limit.

As women, our brains seem to have about 47 tabs open at any given moment. 😄 Whether we’re in our 30s, 50s, 70s or beyond, we’re often thinking about the shopping list, family, work, appointments… and wondering what’s for dinner before we’ve even finished lunch!

We tell ourselves we’re relaxing, but are we actually switching off?

Learning a simple facial massage ritual gave these wonderful women permission to pause. To breathe. To let their shoulders drop away from their ears. (You know the feeling!)

By the end of the session, the difference was clear—not just in the healthy glow of their skin, but in the calm, relaxed expressions looking back at me.

✨ Less tension.
✨ A quieter mind.
✨ Better circulation.
✨ A few precious minutes that belong to you.

Because facial massage isn’t about chasing youth. It’s about reconnecting with yourself, one gentle massage at a time.

And I think every woman deserves a little more of that. 💛

Have you ever tried facial massage as part of your self-care routine? I’d love to hear how it makes you feel in the comments. 👇

It’s getting hot here and i’m sure you’re all stripping down to your un**es (or less 😂)

Here are 5 natural ways to cool down (that actually help) and when you can’t run around half naked
1. Castor oil on your feet at night
Castor oil grounds the nervous sysyem + cooling. Rub a little on your soles before bed — it draws heat down and helps you sleep better too

2. Herbal sips all day
Swap that third coffee for a cooling tea - think mint, fennel, or chamomile. Surprisingly refreshing!

3. Load up on hydrating foods
Cucumber, watermelon, coconut water, leafy greens = your besties right now. Skip the spicy + fried stuff when you’re already overheating

4. DIY rose water mist
Keep a bottle of rose water or aloe vera juice in the fridge and spritz your face anytime you need a chill moment. Smells divine + feels like heaven

5. Cool your pulse points!
Run cold water over your wrists, ankles, or the back of your neck for 30 seconds - these spots help regulate body temp fast. Great if you’re overheating and need instant relief (yes, even in the middle of toddler mayhem)

☀️ Pitta season calls for tarpana — deep replenishment of the body’s fluids and tissues.

As the sun’s heat rises, our bodies naturally need more support to stay balanced, cool and nourished.

In Ayurveda, hydration isn’t just about drinking more water; it’s about helping the body absorb, retain and use moisture to support our inner balance.

When Pitta gets too high, you may notice:
🔥 feeling overheated
💧 dry skin or lips
🌙 restless sleep
🌿 feeling more depleted or irritable

Support yourself this season with:
✨ cooling, hydrating foods
✨ calming herbal infusions
✨ mindful hydration throughout the day
✨ self-care rituals that soothe the nervous system

Your summer glow starts from within. 🌸

Save this as your Pitta season reminder 💛

☀️ Feeling hotter, more reactive, or noticing your skin isn’t behaving like it did a few weeks ago?

It might not just be the weather…

In Ayurveda, we’re moving into Pitta season; the time of year associated with heat, intensity, transformation, and fire.

When Pitta starts to rise, women often notice:

✨ Increased skin sensitivity or redness
✨ More flushing, rosacea or inflammation
✨ Breakouts around the chin and jawline
✨ Feeling more irritable, impatient, or overwhelmed
✨ Running warmer than usual and craving cooling foods

The good news? You don’t need a complete lifestyle overhaul. Simple daily rituals can help keep you balanced:

🌹 Start your day with a few minutes of facial massage using gentle, cooling strokes
🥒 Add cooling foods like cucumber, leafy greens, berries and fresh herbs
💧 Stay hydrated throughout the day
🚶‍♀️ Choose gentle movement over pushing through exhaustion
🌿 Create small moments of calm before your nervous system starts asking for them

One thing I love about facial massage at this time of year is that it supports both the skin and the mind. When we soften tension in the face, we often soften the internal heat we’re carrying too.

Tell me below 👇Are you noticing any signs of rising Pitta already?

Have you noticed that some women absolutely swear by cold plunges while others would rather wrap themselves in a blanket and sit in a sauna for an hour? 🔥❄️

Ayurveda teaches that our needs aren’t all the same and they change throughout life.

As women move through their 40s and beyond, fluctuating hormones, changing sleep patterns, stress levels and energy can all influence whether heat or cold feels supportive.

The goal isn’t to force yourself through the latest wellness trend. It’s to learn what helps your body feel more balanced.

I’m curious—which team are you?

Half term usually fills me with anxiety.

The thought of juggling work, keeping my son entertained; and somehow finding time for everything else can feel overwhelming before it’s even started.

Like many parents, I often have to save my annual leave for school holidays because holiday clubs don’t always work for us. We can’t always afford to go away either, so half term can sometimes feel more stressful than relaxing.

But this May half term was different.

Maybe it was the amazing weather, but it felt like a mini break. We celebrated special milestones, spent quality time with friends, enjoyed slow mornings, tennis sessions, and simply being together without rushing from one thing to the next.

It reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t the big plans — they’re the simple ones.

And then I did something I never thought I’d do . . . I got into an ice bath. 🧊

For someone who absolutely hates the cold and whose body usually protests at the slightest drop in temperature, this felt HUGE.

The first attempt lasted about 10 seconds. Feet in, straight back out.

The second time, I focused on my breath, trusted the process, and stayed a little longer.

What surprised me most wasn’t how cold it was. It was how quickly my body adapted once I stopped fighting it.

It felt strangely empowering. A reminder that growth often sits just outside our comfort zone, and that sometimes we’re capable of far more than we give ourselves credit for.

This half term taught me two things:
✨ Slow days can be just as valuable as busy ones.
✨ The things we resist the most can sometimes become the experiences we enjoy the most.

Have you ever tried something you were convinced you’d hate… only to end up loving it?
