My name is Dorthe, born and brought up in Denmark. I love the outdoors and animals. You will meet me in the hills or swimming in the lochs. Working extensively in mental health in a range of settings for 16 years which led me to acquire a long standing interest in the connection between mind and body. This drew me towards bodywork & eventually qualifications in Medical Massage, now known as clinical massage, with JING. I hold a diploma in massage, counselling and Pilates and 2 in hypnotherapy. One I'm super excited about as I have had the pleasure of studying with the very well respected hypnotherapist and writer Ali Campbell. I am passionate about my work and like to be the best I can be. I run a busy and successful therapy practice and have a vast experience in the mind/body connection. I can hardly believe I have been in that field for 30+ years now

I'm excited to announce that I'm now offering Hypnotherapy, Somatic Breathwork and Nervous System Regulation sessions from a beautiful new space in Melrose on Wednesday afternoons.

My work helps people move beyond stress, anxiety, overwhelm and unhelpful patterns by working with the body, breath and subconscious mind—not just talking about problems.

So often we live in our heads, disconnected from what our body is trying to tell us. This work helps you move out of constant thinking and back into connection with yourself.

Exercise becomes even more important as we get older. It keeps us supple, strong, and feeling good in both body and mind.

These classes are about more than movement . Use or Lose classes are about connection, confidence, and enjoying your body at any stage. We work gently but effectively to improve strength, balance, and flexibility.
This is a lively class, full of chatter, laughter, and good fun. Nothing serious , just pure joy.

We’ve been going strong for 12 years, always moving along to great 50s and 60s music.

Pilates over Easter week is often a little quieter, with lambing season in full swing, people taking time to rest, or heading away on holiday.

Today we worked with Pilates balls, exploring balance, coordination, and that gentle but steady focus that keeps both body and mind engaged. It’s amazing how something so small can really challenge stability and awareness in such a playful way.

There was a constant concentration as always but also plenty of giggles and lightness today. With the combination of focus and ease, the body is learning, adapting, and strengthening without force.
A lovely session full of movement, connection, and good fun. 🕊
