morning from us!

Maddie is 5 weeks old and we are getting smiles 😃😃😃😃 Its the best.

Also, yesterday we popped to the Milk cafe in Horley.
Thank you Cat and your collesgues for your support and for being so lovely.

Horley milk cafe runs on a Monday from 10-12.
Oxted Lemon drops (feeding support) runs on alternative Fridays from 12-14:00.

Get yourselves down if you need some support or want to meet other new mums.

I continue to offer antenatal and postnatal support to women and families.

Please get in contact if you feel you would like any additional care or just want private midwifery care.

I plan to get back to birth support in the new year.

1 month update!

God, I love this kid so much.

4 weeks post giving birth to this gorgeous monster.
Time is flying but we are deep in postnatal life. I have a viral throat infection after getting over a uterine infection! But I'm doing fine.
Hubby is back to work officially from today. Wish me luck! lol

Maddie had her tongue and feeding assessed by the lovely Jen Goodwin. She has confirmed Maddie has a small Tongue tie but we are trying to manage her latch and my let down before potentially snipping her tongue, which Id rather avoid.

Otherwise, we are doing great.

We've had a lovely morning seeing Rachel and Jodie (my friends, colleagues and Midwives) 🥰

Madeline enjoyed giving Rachel the eye! 🤣🤔

We also thought we'd entertain ourselves and weigh the chunky monkey, to see the damage!!
She's already 5.93kg!! She's gained a whole kilo in just over 3 weeks!! 🤭 She's almost too big for my newborn sling scales! haha

Husband couldn't walk this morning! So, off to A&E we went! Not what we need with a 2 week old and kids off school!!
I also still have symptoms of a womb infection, so I went to maternity triage for assessment.
I'm still very reluctant to take antibiotics (for my baby's sake more so). I'm otherwise well, so I'm going to continue with alternative options at present. I'm now awaiting a ultrasound scan to check for retained products. So, we will see what that shows when I have that (hopefully in the next few days). I have antibiotics, so if I become poorly, I'll have to start taking. 😔
I'm really hoping my body can clear the infection itself. 🤞🤞
