This changed everything I thought I knew about anxiety!

I spent years treating every sensation like an emergency. Every headache, every dizzy spell, every pain in my chest, every weird feeling thay I couldn't explain.

But anxiety LOVES fear and hyperfocus. So the more scared I became of the sensation, the louder my nervous system got.

Learning that anxiety symptoms are often protective responses, not proof of danger, completely changed the way I responded to my body.

It didn't change overnight, it chanhed slowly and with consistency until eventuallu my brain stopped sounding the alarm quite so loudly.

When panic hits, it is terrifying.
It feels like something is seriously wrong.

That’s why reassurance often doesn’t land in the moment.

Your body is in a loop, and it needs an interrupt, not more thinking.

Cold, pressure and grounding. Start there.

Let your body settle, then your mind will follow.

This catches so many people out ... you feel shaky, clammy, a bit off and your brain jumps straight to panic.
But sometimes your body just needs fuel, or rest or regulation.
The problem isn’t the sensation, it’s the meaning your brain gives it.
When you understand that, everything starts to soften.

Everyone talks about “regulating the nervous system”, but most people are never actually taught what that means or how to do it.

When your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, even small things can feel overwhelming. This is your body simply trying to protect you.
