That £30 head spa? Honestly please save your money.
When a trend takes off everyone jumps on it, and I get it. A lot of folk see head spas as easy money, just a relaxing wash. Places have popped up all over Scotland, and I’ve already watched loads shut down and sell off their kit, because it isn’t easy. It can wreck your body if you don’t look after yourself, and people underestimate how much upkeep these machines need. I’ve got three machines, only one ever in use, but I keep backups so we never fall behind on hygiene or safety (Mr.HQ strips them regularly to deeply clean every single part.)
Some folk have probably assumed I’m just cashing in too. I’m not, I’m fully invested in this I was already collecting qualifications before these treatments came on the the scene. Scalp care, nervous system regulation, burnout recovery, and walking people through their scalp and hair journeys properly.
Here’s the harder bit. I’ve seen the panic in group chats. People knotting clients’ hair, using the wrong products, stripping colour, asking what they should be using whilst in treatments. Clients walking out worse than they came in. Those are alarm bells, and they come down to a real lack of training. It’s no surprise when there are so called trainers claiming to be CPD registered who are charging full whack for a Mickey Mouse certificate, if qualified they are teaching a treatment they’ve barely done themselves. A course can’t give you passion, or the hours of research and experience behind it.
I keep hearing “oh I had one once, it was alright” and that upsets me if it was only alright, you had a bad one. A proper treatment is time carved out just for you, your scalp actually assessed, the right products, your nervous system finally switching off. A good one is something you crave. I’ve got clients who think about theirs daily. That’s how you know you’re in safe hands, and that’s what I want for you.
There are several brilliant places in Scotland, so if you can’t get in with me, drop me a message and I’ll point you to someone who genuinely cares.
Do yourself a favour. Spend your money on the real thing, not the trend as a car
