The bit you don’t see on Instagram 😮💨
Building Nixie hasn’t been easy, & I don’t think enough people talk about what it actually takes to build something you’re proud of.
The sleepless nights. The financial pressure. The sacrifices. The moments you question whether you’re capable of doing what you’ve set out to do.
& then getting up the next morning & doing it all again anyway.
Revamping this space into a clinic & opening my new clinic’s doors almost 18 months ago was one of the proudest moments of my life. But getting there took a lot more than choosing paint colours & buying furniture 😂 (plus it was emotional saying goodbye to my first cabin clinic!)
It took resilience, trusting myself, making uncomfortable decisions, & learning to keep going, even when things didn’t go to plan.
My Buddhist beliefs have taught me to trust the universe & accept that everything is as it’s supposed to be, even when I can’t see the bigger picture yet.
I don’t believe everything happens easily, or that you can simply wish for something & it’ll appear.
I believe you have to do the work, make the sacrifices, & be willing to grow through the uncomfortable bits, & the Universe will then reward you with more success that creates even more stress 🤦🏻♀️🤣
& I haven’t done all of this just to build a successful business.
I’ve done it to create something meaningful. A space where women support women. Where my clients feel safe, understood & confident enough to be themselves.
Something I wish I’d have experienced when I had my beauty treatments, hair appointments & PMU in my early 20’s … but never found it.
Every woman who trusts me with her face, her confidence & her experience is a part of why I keep pushing forward.
So if you’re sitting there dreaming of something different, whether that’s a business, a new career or simply a happier life…
Please don’t convince yourself you’re not capable before you’ve even tried.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to start.
Back yourself.
Trust the journey.
Do the work.
I’m proud of how far Nixie has come, but I’m even more excited for where we’re going ❤️
