The Wisdom of the Tree and the Energy of Letting Go

There is something profoundly intelligent about the way a tree releases its leaves.

It does not wait until the leaf is completely lifeless.

It begins the process while the leaf is still beautiful.

As autumn arrives, the tree gradually withdraws what the leaf needs to remain attached.
The energy begins to move elsewhere, away from what is outwardly visible and back towards the deeper structures of the tree.

The tree is not dying.

It is reorganising its energy.

And perhaps this is where nature has something far more profound to teach us about our own energetic lives.

We often think of letting go as an emotional act, something we decide to do with our minds.

But sometimes the deeper truth is that our energy has already moved on before our conscious mind has caught up.

You may still be holding a situation, a person, a memory or an identity intellectually, while somewhere within your energetic field, you have already begun to withdraw your life force from it.

You can feel it.

Something doesn't resonate in the same way.

Something that once felt essential begins to feel strangely heavy.

Your energy becomes quieter around certain people or situations.

You find yourself craving solitude, nature, silence or deeper meaning.

These can be subtle signs that an old energetic pattern is reaching the end of its season.

Consider your chakras as part of this process.

The root chakra is connected with belonging, safety and the foundations upon which you stand.

When life changes, the root can become unsettled as the old ground beneath you shifts.

The sacral chakra holds the movement of emotion, creativity and relationship with life's natural flow.

Here, we can sometimes discover where we are trying to hold onto something that is already asking to move.

The solar plexus speaks to personal power, identity and the energetic patterns through which we navigate the world.

Sometimes healing means releasing an identity that was created to survive an earlier chapter of your life.

The heart space can hold another kind of autumn wisdom.

Not everything we love is meant to remain.

Sometimes the heart's healing is not about closing itself but learning the difference between loving something and energetically remaining attached to it.

And perhaps the deepest release happens higher within us.

The throat chakra can carry words that were never spoken.

The third eye can hold perceptions and stories about who we believed we were.

And the crown can become quieter when we stop searching for certainty and allow ourselves to listen instead.

Just as the tree withdraws its energy from the leaf and returns it to its deeper system, there are times when our energy needs to come home to us.

Not because we have failed.

Not because something was necessarily wrong.

But because a particular exchange has completed itself.

This is one of the reasons energetic healing can be so deeply personal.

Sometimes what we need is not another answer, another technique or another thing to do.

Sometimes we need space to become aware of where our energy is still reaching backwards.

Where are you still giving energy to something that has already finished?

Where are you carrying an old emotional imprint in your energetic field?

Where have you confused holding on with being loyal?

And perhaps most importantly:

What part of you is waiting for permission to return home?

The tree does not apologise when its branches become bare.

It does not interpret emptiness as absence.

It knows something we so often forget:

There are seasons when growth happens where nobody can see it.

Beneath the surface, the roots continue their quiet work.

And so, as autumn arrives, perhaps don't simply look at the falling leaves and think about letting go.

Look deeper.

Think about energy returning to source.

Think about the parts of yourself that have been scattered through old experiences, expectations, relationships and versions of who you thought you needed to be.

Perhaps this season is an invitation to gather yourself back.

To bring your awareness into your body.

To become conscious of your energy.

To listen to your chakras, your intuition and those subtle places within you that speak long before the mind finds the words.

Because sometimes healing isn't about adding more to yourself.

Sometimes healing begins when you stop feeding what has already finished.

And just like the tree, you may discover that when you finally release what no longer belongs to your present, you have not become less.

You have simply made more room for your own life force to flow where it is needed now.

This autumn, ask yourself quietly:

Where is my energy asking to return to me?

What am I ready to release, not because I no longer care, but because I am ready to honour the next season of my life?

And then listen.

Not only with your mind.

Listen with your whole energetic being.

Creating space to reconnect with yourself on a deeper level, mind, body, energy and soul.

What if healing isn't always about fixing what's wrong?

We often think of healing as something we seek when we are struggling.

But healing can be much more than that.

Sometimes healing is finally allowing yourself to grieve something you told yourself you had already moved on from.

Sometimes it's recognising that the version of you who survived difficult experiences doesn't have to be the version of you who lives your future.

Sometimes it's learning that saying “no” doesn't make you selfish.

Sometimes it's walking away from relationships, situations or patterns that continually drain you - even when a part of you still feels guilty for doing so.

Sometimes it's forgiving yourself for the choices you made when you were doing the best you could with what you knew at the time.

Sometimes it's discovering that you have spent years being everything that everyone else needed, while quietly losing touch with what you actually need.

And sometimes healing isn't dramatic at all.

It can be laughing again after a very difficult period.

Feeling comfortable in your own company.

Sleeping peacefully after years of carrying a busy mind.

Going outside and noticing the trees, the sky or the warmth of the sun instead of rushing past everything.

Finding your curiosity again.

Picking up something you once loved and realising that part of you is still there.

Allowing yourself to receive rather than always being the person who gives.

Feeling able to trust your own intuition again.

Or simply waking up one morning and realising:

“I don't want to live my life the way I used to.”

That realisation can be a powerful beginning.

Healing doesn't necessarily mean forgetting what happened, changing who you are or becoming permanently positive.

It can mean understanding yourself more deeply.

Becoming aware of the patterns you carry.

Listening to what your mind, body and energy are communicating.

Creating healthier boundaries.

Releasing what no longer belongs in your life.

Making peace with parts of your past.

And gradually creating space for something new.

There may be times when you feel like you're going backwards, but healing isn't always a straight line. Sometimes you revisit an old feeling because you're finally strong enough to see it from a different perspective.

And perhaps one of the most important things we can learn is this:

You don't have to wait until you're completely exhausted, overwhelmed or broken before you deserve care.

You are worthy of looking after yourself before you reach that point.

Your wellbeing deserves attention when you're struggling, but it also deserves attention when life appears to be going well.

Because healing isn't simply about getting back to who you once were.

Sometimes it's about discovering who you are becoming.

If something within you has been quietly asking for more balance, deeper self-understanding or a different approach to your wellbeing, perhaps it's time to listen.

There are some goodbyes that words can never truly explain.

Sometimes we have to let someone go from our physical world, but that does not mean the love we shared with them disappears.

Love is not held within the body, nor is it bound by time, distance, or even death. It becomes part of us, woven into our memories, our hearts, our energy and the very person we become because they touched our lives.

I believe some connections are far deeper than this lifetime.

There are souls who come into our lives to teach us, to love us, to awaken something within us, and sometimes to leave us with a depth of love we never knew existed.

When someone we love walks beyond our sight, we may feel as though they have left us behind. But perhaps they have simply stepped into a place we cannot yet see.

The ocean reminds us of this beautifully. The tide comes in; the tide goes out.
Nothing is ever truly still. What appears to disappear is simply changing form.

So, if you are carrying the pain of goodbye today, be gentle with yourself. Allow yourself to grieve. Allow yourself to remember. Allow yourself to love without needing to hold on.

Because love outlasts everything. Even goodbye.

The Greatest Gift You Can Give Yourself

We spend so much of our lives giving to others, caring, supporting, working, nurturing and making sure everyone around us is okay.

But when was the last time you truly stopped and asked yourself:

“How am I?”

The greatest gift you can give yourself isn’t something that comes wrapped in beautiful paper and tied with a bow.

It is the gift of looking after YOU.

Looking after yourself on every level - your mind, your body, your emotions and your soul.

And that includes the parts of you that we cannot always see.

Your energy field, chakras and aura can be affected by stress, emotions, your environment and the people you spend time with.

When life becomes overwhelming, you may find yourself feeling drained, heavy, disconnected or simply not quite yourself.

Taking time to restore and rebalance your energy can be a beautiful way of coming back to yourself.

Give yourself permission to rest.

Protect your energy.

Release what no longer serves you.

Listen to what your body and soul are telling you.

Make time for healing, nurturing and simply being.

Remember, self-care isn't selfish.

You cannot continually pour from an empty cup.

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for everyone you care about is to step back, breathe, replenish your own energy and give yourself the same love and attention that you so freely give to others.

You are worthy of being cared for too.

So perhaps today, give yourself a very special gift…

The gift of YOU.

If you feel drawn to exploring your own energy, chakras and aura and would like support on your healing journey, I would love to help.

Sometimes, we become so busy living life… that we forget to actually live.

We spend our days working, looking after everyone else, worrying about tomorrow and trying to keep everything together.

And somewhere along the way, we can lose touch with ourselves.

Our energy becomes depleted.

Our mind becomes overwhelmed.

Our emotions feel heavy.

And we can find ourselves simply going through the motions rather than truly experiencing life.

But your wellbeing matters too.

Sometimes, you need to pause… breathe… and give yourself permission to reconnect with you.

I believe healing isn't about changing who you are.

It's about gently coming back to the person you have always been beneath the stress, the expectations and everything life has placed upon you.

After more than 25 years working as an Intuitive Holistic Healer, I have seen how powerful it can be when someone finally gives themselves the time and space to be supported.

So perhaps today, ask yourself:

“When was the last time I truly did something for me?”

Not because you had to.

Not because someone else needed you.

But simply because you deserved it.

Your mind, your body, your energy and your soul all deserve care.

And sometimes, the greatest journey we can take…
is the journey back to ourselves.

I’m Amanda Walder, and I created Connecting Souls because I believe we’ve never been more connected digitally, yet so many people can still feel disconnected in real life.

I wanted to create something that makes it easier for people to meet, talk and form genuine friendships, without the pressure of dating or networking.

I know that walking into a room full of strangers can feel daunting, so I created Light-hearted Speed Connections to give people an easy, relaxed way to start conversations and discover the people around them.

For me, Connecting Souls is about something very simple, bringing people together, creating genuine connections and helping people find their tribe.

And my dream is to see Connecting Souls happening in towns and communities right across the UK and Northern Ireland, so that more people have the opportunity to connect.

That’s why I created Connecting Souls. Because sometimes, one conversation really can change everything.

The People Around You Matter

Sometimes, we don’t realise just how much the people around us can influence our energy, our confidence and our healing.

Just like the beautiful horse looking into the mirror, we can sometimes see a reflection of ourselves that is shaped by the company we keep.

Surround yourself with people who lift you, believe in you, encourage you and allow you to be completely yourself. People who celebrate your growth rather than feel threatened by it.

The right souls won’t make you question your worth.
They won’t dim your light.
They will remind you of the light that was always within you.

And sometimes, healing means having the courage to step away from relationships that drain your energy and make space for those that nourish your soul.

Choose your circle carefully.
Your energy is precious.
Your soul deserves to feel safe, supported and free to shine.

Because when we surround ourselves with the right people, we don't just grow…

we rise together.
