Can you burp?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve never been able to burp.

Most people laugh when I tell them, but the reality is it has affected my whole life.

I had no idea it was even a real medical condition until about a year or so ago when I came across someone online describing exactly the same symptoms. That’s when I discovered it has a name: R-CPD (Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction), also known as “No Burp Syndrome.”

It’s so much more than simply not being able to burp.

For me, it meant painful bloating, constant nausea, trapped wind, loud gurgling noises in my throat and chest, and emetophobia (a fear of being sick), which is incredibly common in people with this condition.

Review access to NHS treatment for Retrograde Cricopharyngeal Dysfunction (R-CPD no burp syndrome!)

We want the Government to review the adequacy of recognition of, and NHS treatment access for, people with Retrograde Cricopharyngeal Dysfunction (R-CPD).

We believe too many sufferers are dismissed or misdiagnosed before paying privately for treatment - patients deserve better awareness and NHS access to care.

We want the Government to work towards improving recognition and NHS treatment access for Retrograde Cricopharyngeal Dysfunction (R-CPD), a condition that prevents sufferers from being able to burp. R-CPD can cause severe bloating, pain and major impacts on daily life. We believe patients deserve better awareness, referral pathways and NHS access to treatment.

Cottage cheese - love or hate?!

I personally love it but it has to be full fat and creamy - this one’s my fave from and it’s 15g protein for half a pot! And I don’t know what it is about the hot/cold sensation but it really is the ONE! I love it.

This chicken mince meal is so easy to prep too and eat over a few days and this particular portion is 480cals and 54g protein! This can be adapted for step 2 and above on plan.

I also had the 2 large boiled eggs as a snack plus 3 meal replacement / nutritionally complete products.

The vanilla shake is my ultimate fave with a shot of caramel beanies coffee added, loads of iced and cold water to make it up to 700mls (perfect in this heat!) to help satisfy my morning latte fix but in a healthy way and half the price than Starbucks.

Then had the new Dubai chocolate shake made the same with loads of water and ice, then if you haven’t tried the fruit & nut bar you’re missing out 😱 🍫
