2.8 people die by su***de each week in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

1 in 5 of us have suicidal thoughts.

1 in 15 of us attempt su***de.

For every one death by su***de, more than 100 people are impacted by their loss.

Men are 3 times more likely to die by su***de than women.

Never underestimate the power of a conversation. If you’re feeling low, talking can be the first step forward. Find dedicated local support services via the NottAlone.org.uk directory.

World Su***de Prevention Day. It’s time to break the silence.

EPCC Chat

We're delighted to welcome Dr Kelechi Adimoha and Dr Kelly Finlay to the surgery. We're also pleased to welcome Dr Lauren Taylor and Dr Sophie Walker back from maternity leave.
And look forward to Dr Yihya El-Eryani (GP Registrar) joining the surgery as a GP in December.

During July, Eastwood Primary Care Centre provided 9136 appointments but unfortunately 225 of those were missed without being cancelled. Missed appointments use valuable clinical time that could have helped other patients.
If you can no longer make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancelling is quick and easy:
Use your NHS account via the NHS App or NHS website.
Reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text.
Call us on 01773 304700, our callback service keeps your place in the queue, so there's no need to wait on hold.
Call into the surgery and let our Reception team know.

We appreciate that sometimes circumstances can change. By cancelling an appointment you cannot attend or no longer need, you are helping us offer that time to another patient waiting for care. A huge thank you to everyone who attended their appointment or took the time to cancel or rearrange it. Your support helps us make the best use of our clinical time and ensures we can care for as many patients as possible. Together, we can reduce missed appointments and make every appointment count

And we're pleased to share the news that our Service Coordinator, Diane Rowley, has been nominated for a BBC Radio Nottingham Make A Difference Volunteer Award for her work with Eastwood Memory Cafe. Diane is through to the finals on Friday September 11th and so we wish her all the very best of luck.
You can catch Diane’s interview here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m00308fq

Local Care, Local Support

It's great to see the Life Skills in the Community sessions continuing with a Scam Awareness event this month, delivered by Nottingham West Social Prescribing and Inspire Eastwood Library.

This free session is open to everyone and offers practical advice on how to recognise, avoid and report scams. Definitely something there for us all to learn, as scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

If you know someone who may be more vulnerable to scams, perhaps an elderly neighbour, friend or relative, please share details of this event with them.

Awareness is our best defence!
