🎗️🌾 The International Day of Charity is a global observance held every year on September 5 to raise awareness and encourage charitable efforts worldwide.🎗️

At April park we started our annual Harvest Festival collection box , collecting food for the lighthouse church in Eckington. 🥫

🎨🖍️The residents enjoyed doing their part in helping with the decorations that have been used to decorate the harvest festival collection box. 👩‍🎨🖍️

🏞️✉️📮 Postcards of Kindness is an initiative that encourages people to send postcards to residents in care homes.

Residents have made a post card and booklet about Eckington to send to another care home who are wanting to build on their world collection.

On Tuesday residents enjoyed a Dolly theme show, by the lovely singer Biddy, later that day came the sad news that Dolly had passed away❤️
Residents over the years have loved singing & dancing to her music and will be a lovely memory for us to cherish🥰Her music has given us many memories over the years. 🤍🎶
Thank you Biddy for putting on a fantastic show for us again & giving us a laugh with Lynseys, Lacey’s & Samis line dancing 💃

Today is International Dog Day and to celebrate we had 2 therapy Dogs come & visit us🐶🐕 Therapy dogs provide powerful emotional, mental, and physical benefits by reducing stress, providing comfort, and encouraging social connections🐾🐩🦴

🌺🌺Hawaiian shirt day , also knows as Aloha Friday , is a light hearted celebration that encourages people to swop formal attire for bright, patterned Aloha shirts.

📸📽️ The Residents enjoyed taking part in World Photography Day on August 19, 2026, “HOME". Was the theme this invited the residents in April Park to capture what home means to them, whether that is where they live, where they grew up, their home country, or a special place that brings comfort📸😃.

Music, Memories & Magic!✨🎶
A heartwarming visit from singing performer Biddy.
For many of our residents, especially those living with dementia, hearing their favourite classic songs can spark recognition and unlock precious, happy memories.
It truly is magical to see 😊
