PAUSE a pathway to Bee-ing

What are the barriers to "Being"?

We know rest and being are essential, yet we often resist them.

Perhaps we associate being with doing nothing. And if we're doing nothing, we may feel unproductive. If we're unproductive, perhaps we feel not worthy.

When reflecting on this in my own journey, I've realised that the biggest challenge isn't the being itself...

It's the PAUSE.

How do we PAUSE in order to BE?

Over the past few weeks, I've been playing with an acronym using the word PAUSE and applying the principles of Soul Psychology to this process.

P – Patience
Having patience with yourself as you learn to pause. It can take time to change the habits of a lifetime.

A – Awareness
Becoming aware of when pausing to Be would serve you, connecting to your intuition, your own internal wisdom

U – Understanding
Offering compassion and understanding to all parts of you, especially the parts that say, "Keep going. Don't stop."

S – Self-Inquiry
Committing to sacred listening & noticing: What am I feeling, needing, or believing in this moment?

E – Empowerment
Empowering yourself to make a conscious choice. Do I need to do, or can I simply be in this moment for a moment?

Over the coming days, I'll share more about each of these elements, as each one is a practice—and a commitment to change—in itself.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

What does PAUSE mean to you?

Fierce self-compassion asks us to honor our worth enough to set boundaries, speak up, and care for ourselves with courage. True compassion isn’t passive—it can be a powerful force for healing and change.

"Look at a tree, a flower, or a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it—how still it is, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness." —Eckhart Tolle
