🔸Corns are kind of like our bread & butter in clinic! 🔹

A lot that we see are quite small - but this was a nice big one that we had to get on our socials!

This needed careful debridement to remove the layers or thick, hardened skin!

But that’s only stage 1️⃣ of the treatment! If we left it there, and didn’t address the underlying cause, this patient would probably be back in a years time with the same issue!

❌ And that’s just not how we do things here!

✅ Corns happen when the skin tries to protect itself against friction or pressure. So we created some custom orthotics for this patient to offload the area where pressure was occurring!

This creates a result where the corn is gone & shouldn’t come back! ⭐️

Always spraining your ankle? 👀

If your ankle keeps “going over”, it can be a sign that the joint isn’t as stable as it should be - and that’s not ideal! ❌

This can happen after an old sprain that never fully rehabbed, or because of weakness, poor balance, reduced control around the ankle, or the way your foot moves when you walk or run - your natural gait & biomechanics!

The real problem is, once it’s happened once, it’s more likely to happen again without the right support!

A proper assessment can help us work out why it keeps happening and build a plan to reduce your risk! This can involve rehab, strengthening, footwear advice, orthotics or treatment to support recovery! ✅

The message is simple! Come in & get it sorted - because it’s not just one of those quirky body things & won’t sort itself out! 👣

🔸Knee pain is one of those things people put up with for far too long!

🔹A bit of discomfort going upstairs. A ni**le after a walk. Pain when running. That annoying ache that keeps coming back every time you try to be active again.

🔸But knee pain isn’t a diagnosis - it’s a symptom.

🔹It could be linked to the joint itself, the surrounding tendons, your foot posture, the way you walk, your training load, your footwear, or even how your body is compensating elsewhere.

🔸That’s why getting properly assessed matters.

We’ve said before about how you’ll probably wait around eight weeks for a Podiatry appointment on the NHS

❌ But that isn’t the full story!

8 weeks is if your problem is deemed URGENT - which rules out a bunch of problems (swipe left for details)

In most cases, you may have to wait around twelve weeks - or not be seen at all!

If your problem is at all impacting your day to day life - you need to be seen now! And that’s where we come in!

⚠️ Because small problems become bigger if just left to fester!

We hear this at least once a day 🤣

PSA: You NEVER need to apologise to us for your feet!

This is quite literally what we do. Every single day!!

Dry skin, hard skin, thick nails, verrucas, things you’ve been hiding in socks for months…none of it shocks us and none of it puts us off.

If anything, it just helps us do our job properly.

❌ No judging
✅ And we’ve definitely seen it before (we promise)

If you’re not booking an appointment because you think we’ll be horrified - we won’t be! We’ll just be over the moon that another person is prioritising their foot health!

If you keep spraining your ankle & you’re seeing this post - your algorithm is working perfectly!

🔸Chronic ankle sprains rarely just sort themselves out!

This patient presented with:
• Repeated inversion injuries
• High-arched (cavoid) foot
• Tibialis anterior tendon sheath swelling
• Ongoing pain

We introduced:
✔️ Proper offloading with our custom orthotics designed for their high arch
✔️ Structured rehab

➡️ 6 weeks later:
• No swelling on ultrasound
• No pain
• Back to normal activity

🔹What have we learnt?
If you keep rolling your ankle, something deeper is often going on.

Don’t wait for it to become chronic! Don’t ignore it & cause more damage!
