Sharing just in case someone recognizes this tattoo
I’m reaching out because Gardaí in Dublin are urgently seeking help identifying a man seriously assaulted in Temple Bar. He is currently in a coma and not expected to recover, and police have asked the public for help identifying him.
One of the main identifying features is a distinctive tattoo on the inside of his right forearm that shows a blue-and-white Saltire-style flag with the Gaellic words “Ceol is Beatha” (Music is Life). This image has been shared in Irish media and is shared below.
Given your connection to the tattoo and traditional music community in Scotland, I’m reaching out to ask whether this design looks familiar to you or anyone in your network, or if it might ring a bell with someone you know.
If you recognise it or think you may know who it belongs to, please contact Gardaí directly in relation to the Temple Bar assault investigation:
Pearse Street Garda Station: 01 666 9000
Garda Confidential Line: 1800 666 111
Or via your local station
If you’re able to, please feel free to share this with your artists, members, musicians, or anyone in your network who might recognise the tattoo — and if it rings a bell for anyone, please ask them to contact Gardaí directly. FYI, I have no involvement, just know SOMEONE out there is missing him, might be out playing with the lads & not heard the news. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Kind regards,
Ashley Denningham
