As part of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Faculty's aims and objectives are:

-To set and maintain standards of practice in pre-hospital care;
-To promote education in and teaching of pre-hospital care;
-To initiate technical developments and research in pre-hospital care; and
-To integrate effectively the efforts of all participants in pre-hospital care, and to harmonise and facilitate the onward management of the sick and injured.

The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care is delighted to announce Dr Louisa Chan as a recipient of the FPHC Medal 2025, recognising her outstanding and sustained contribution to pre-hospital care and the development of PHEM training across the UK.

Through her leadership of the IBTPHEM Training Committee, commitment to education and assessment, and work to improve equity and access within the specialty, Louisa has played a fundamental role in shaping the training of pre-hospital clinicians nationally.

Her leadership, integrity and extraordinary commitment to developing others have created an impact that will continue to be felt across the specialty for years to come.

We’re recruiting: FPHC Conference Lead

The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to provide leadership for the development, planning and delivery of its conference.

This voluntary, three-year appointment is an exciting opportunity to help shape a high-quality educational programme reflecting current practice, emerging topics and the priorities of the pre-hospital care community.

Applicants must be Faculty members in good standing and should have strong leadership, organisational, communication and collaborative-working skills.
