We started this month's first Friday herb garden volunteering at the relaxing Chamomile 🌼 Matricaria recutita beds, moving on to the Skullcap 🌱 Scutellaria lateriflora

Both herbs are usually gentle relaxants - although some folk find Skullcap makes them ever so slightly woozy

First Friday volunteering will be running from 10am-1pm throughout the year - sign up form https://volunteersignup.org/H987R All levels of experience welcomed, along with an openness to learn and spend time with others on the beautiful land 🌱💚🌱

🌱 Vervain Volunteers 🪻 Verbena officinalis 🌱

🍯🌱🍯 Our August first Friday volunteering brought glorious weather and a bountiful Vervain harvest to tincture fresh for our low-cost herbal clinic in Wester Hailes. Next Friday we'll be continuing the harvest theme, along with tending to our other plants and of course chatting plant medicine and drinking plenty of herbal teas 🫖🍵🫖

Herb farm volunteering sessions in July were absolutely glorious. So many plants to harvest and admire, the Elecampane is looking stonking & even with the stormy skies overhead, everyone kept on tending to our medicinal delights

Summer is a great time to start volunteering with us as there is so much to see and do - and plant ID is that we bit easier when everything is in full flower. Sign up for a one-off, every week or once a month, whatever suits you - absolutely no prior experience required.

We have weekly volunteer sessions on Wednesdays from 4-6pm and monthly on the first Friday from 10am-1pm - come along and geek out with plants with us
