Shaving or trimming facial hair does NOT make it grow back thicker, darker or faster. I promise you…This information has been passed down to us for generations and honestly it’s caused more unnecessary plucking and skin damage than many things I can think of.
I’ve treated hundreds of people in clinic for facial laser hair removal and never, ever has it grown back worse for shaving or trimming! Of course, You have to do what is best for you but if the worry of your hair becoming worse for not plucking or tweazing is stopping you this may be of help! Andrea x x

Thread veins, Rosacea, blushing and flushing! No it won’t grow back worse! It’s a texture illusion .. I recommend a facial trimmer like this to all my facial laser hair removal clients as it’s the kindest to the skin and keeps the follicle in tact which we need for laser as well as to always clean shaven! (This is not any particular brand so many out there) Prices vary so lots of choices available to suit and can buy in lots of places and online too! Please always clean after use 🛑 It you insist on still using those tweezers, make sure you keep them sterile as they pluck out dead skin, hair, so imagine all that bacteria your putting back In your face every time you use them 🫣🫣 Andrea x x

Please Stop plucking your facial hair. I know it feels like the quickest fix but it’s one of the worst things you can do for your skin long term and I see the damage it causes in clinic every single week.

Every time you pull a hair out you’re creating a tiny wound. Do that repeatedly in the same area and you get inflammation, ingrown hairs, scarring and dark spots! Some clients come to me with years of damage from plucking that’s left their skin uneven, bumpy and discoloured around the chin and upper lip area. It distorts the hair follicle over time too! Making future treatment to permanently address the problem a little trickier!

I’ll be posting some recommendations very soon on what to do as an alternative because there are much kinder, more effective options that won’t cost your skin in the long run. Andrea x x x

FAQ - ‘how long will it last?’ Honestly? It’s kinda impossible to answer if you think about, We are literally ageing right now I’ll be older when finish writing this post, I wished I could but I can’t stop the ageing process! Yes you will look great after a few treatments and skin will improve for der! But If one or two sessions could reverse years of ageing permanently, I’d be a multi millionaire running a miracle clinic from my yacht somewhere 🌞 id rather be honest though! That myth that shaving makes hair grow back thicker? If you really think about it completely illogical!! 🤔

Think of it like snapping a piece of dry spaghetti, the end looks thicker at the end and feels blunt, but it’s still the same piece of pasta. ?
Hair works the same way.
Your hair naturally grows with a fine, tapered tip. Shaving just creates a blunt edge that feels a bit stubbly as it grows back. Your follicle sits deep in the skin, completely unbothered by a razor. 🙅‍♀️Laser dramatically and quickly starts to slow that growth right down too !
If shaving really made hair thicker, most of our legs would be furry as thick pile carpet and steadily getting thicker and longer over the years! 🤷‍♀️😂

So please do shave away and always be clean shaven for laser, it’s exactly what we want you to do, and your results won’t suffer one bit and trust me your hair won’t all of a sudden grow back thicker!

🛑Been told NO to laser hair removal with a tan ?? Just back from holiday, or planning a holiday, or don’t think you can have it done?
Most lasers can’t safely treat tanned skin, however our Motus AY can ⭐ yes that’s right and it’s super safe ! . Its Moveo technology for you! It delivers energy more gradually, making it safe for tanned skin where traditional systems carry real risks. We can treat skin type 1-5 no problem! Though we obviously can’t treat you straight off the beach we do need your tan to not be fresh and a few weeks old, enough time for those overexcited melanocytes to calm down and take a little break 😄. So it’s still a big No sunburned skin or an ‘fresh, active’ tan as our skin needs a little time to settle down!
