Come take a walk with Kirsten!

We work a lot on Kirsten’s leg strength and stability which is really important as a wheelchair user to help with other aspects of daily living such as transfers and getting dressed.

Kirsten loves going for a walk and finding the tennis balls…before throwing them around the gym!

Kiera_cpfitness turns into Kiera_cpgolf?

Kiera has started golf lessons with Ross using the paragolfer. Ross has been working with Kiera on finding a grip that works for her and taking the club back straight…. here’s a wee sneak peak into one of her lessons.

Thanks to our pals at thegolftrust for supporting Kiera to get lessons!

Operation caravan!

Before his stroke one of Micheal’s favourite pastimes was to go down to his caravan.

Unfortunately since his stroke and subsequent hip fracture it’s something that he misses due to three steps up to the door.

Operation get into caravan is well underway…watch this space!

Leg day for Steven!

Yesterday was leg day for Steven, it’s important for Steven to train legs as a wheelchair user for blood flow, joint flexibility and bone strength….and because he likes training legs and going for a walk as much as he likes training abs (and that’s a lot!)

A couple of weeks ago Campbell told me that his mates were playing 100 holes in a day for charity….

Me: do you want to go play a couple holes with them?

Campbell: (with a slight hesitation) Could we?

So we did!

This was only Campbell’s third time in the paragolfer and his first time on the course since his accident over a year ago.

We ended up playing 6 holes with me as the worst caddy in the world 🤣.

It was much more than the golf though, it was the standing to shake his friend’s hands, hugging his wife and being back on the course with his mates!

DR Inclusive will be at the Scottish Open from the 8th to 12th July 2026 and you could be too!

We are delighted to announce that DR Inclusive Golf will be at the Scottish Open from 8th–12th July 2026, along with our pals at The Golf Trust we will be showcasing accessible and adapted golf.

We have been allocated a number of tickets for each day of the event, with each ticket also allowing entry for a carer or companion.

This opportunity is open to all disabled people and people living with long-term health conditions, whether you are a wheelchair user, ambulant, completely new to golf, or simply interested in finding out more about adapted sport and physical activity.

To receive a ticket, all we ask is that you visit us at the Putting Green in the main Village area and try golf—whether that means taking a few swings, learning more about adapted golf, or exploring the equipment and opportunities available.

As ParaGolfer sessions are limited, we ask that you book a trial slot in advance by contacting us directly.

This is a fantastic opportunity to experience adapted golf, meet the DR Inclusive and Golf Trust teams, connect with other disabled people and individuals with long-term health conditions, and enjoy one of Scotland's premier sporting events.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Par for the course!

When golf is life 😂 Tom has Parkinson’s. Last September he broke his hip and wrist on his dominant side. Tom worked with NHS teams from then until January at home.

I started home visits to Tom in January, to continue working on his strength and mobility so that he could move about the house as he had been upstairs in his house since his fractures.

Tom is a keen golfer and so we dusted the putter down and used it to get Tom to bring his weight forward as he has lost a lot of confidence, this also helped with his balance and coordination.

Tom has gone from strength to strength since then, so much so that last month Tom also started golf lessons with Ross using the paragolfer, thanks to funding from The Golf Trust.

Tom also came to our “have a go” day at Dalmahoy and he only went and holed one out! Boy did I hear about that on Monday 😂

Amazing progress and a testament to Tom’s attitude that he was back out on the course.
