🎉 Today, Chronically Supported CIC officially turned ONE! 🎉

It was lovely to see so many of you at today’s drop-in session, existing members and new!

What started as an idea to create a safe and understanding space for people living with chronic illness and disability has grown into a supportive community filled with friendship, crafts, refreshments, laughter, understanding, and support.

Over the past year we’ve shared countless cups of tea, creative activities, conversations, online meetups and in-person sessions. We’ve also celebrated exciting milestones, including expanding our support into Chester through our partnership with Chester Central PCN and One Chester Community Hub.

Thank you to everyone who has attended a session, volunteered, donated, shared our posts, supported our work, and helped make this community what it is today.

Thank you once again to Lotty’s Bake-away for generously supporting our sessions with lovely treats!

Here’s to another year of connection, support and helping people feel less alone. ❤️

Just over 12 months ago I had to make the decision to leave a job I’d done for half of my life because life kindly threw me a health curveball. Today marks 1 year since Elle Rees and I blindly took the plunge and set up our CIC.

It has been one hell of a ride, what started as a library catch up is now so much more - it’s a safe space for people to come and meet others with long term health conditions; it’s 121 support; it’s introducing new specialised movement classes and diet and nutrition programs and more importantly it’s allowed us to meet some incredible people who hold themselves with dignity and resilience and still find a way to have a sense of humour.

So thank you to Ellie for having the strength to go on this rollercoaster with me and for being the friend I didn’t know I needed; Chris Roberts and Julie Rees for giving us the encouragement to keep going and to our lovely members who remind us daily why we keep going.

We’d also like to thank a few other people who have been instrumental in supporting us on our journey Justin Madders; Great Sutton Medical Centre; Whitby Health Partnership. Your support and belief in what we are trying to accomplish is greatly appreciated

Thank you and on to the next 12 months
