Always ask before touching someone’s wheelchair, mobility aid, or equipment.

Mobility aids are important tools people rely on every day to get around and stay independent.

Touching or moving them without asking feels disrespectful and intrusive, and you might even do it the wrong way or make things harder.

Asking first respects their choice, lets them lead, and ensures any help you give is exactly what they need.

If you don’t, be open and clear.

It saves time, avoids disappointment, and lets everyone make informed choices.

Accessibility doesn’t always need a big budget or a major change.

Sometimes, it starts with something much simpler.

A message. A phone call. An invitation.
A quick check-in to make sure someone feels remembered, included and able to take part.

Whether it’s family, friends or colleagues, small actions can create a much bigger sense of connection and belonging.
