🎙️To celebrate Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we’re delighted to share that one of our Directors, Mario Renda, was recently interviewed by BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk.

Mario spoke about the importance of raising awareness around Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the vital role that quality care and support can play for individuals and their families.

It was a fantastic opportunity to shine a light on an issue that affects so many families and to help encourage greater understanding of dementia and the support available.

We’re incredibly proud to see Mario representing Prestige Nursing & Care and helping to amplify this important conversation. 👏

September is World Alzheimer's Month, and this year's theme, "The earlier you know, the more you can do," reminds us of the importance of recognising the early signs of Alzheimer's and dementia.

Some of the signs to look out for include:

• Forgetting recent conversations or events
• Frequently misplacing everyday items
• Repeating questions without realising
• Becoming confused about dates, times or familiar places

Recognising the signs early can help people access the support, information and care they need sooner.

Let's use this month to raise awareness, start conversations, and support those affected by dementia 💜

What is Complex Care?

Complex care is specialist support provided to people with long-term, complex medical conditions that require a higher level of care than standard home care services.

This can include support for people living with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease, acquired brain injuries and those requiring specialist interventions such as tracheostomy or PEG feeding.

Skye recently received some lovely feedback from a client after noticing a mole on his back during a care visit. Skye encouraged him to get it checked by a healthcare professional, where it was diagnosed as skin cancer. The client is now receiving treatment and shared heartfelt praise for Skye's exceptional care, saying that she had saved his life.
