The traditional hair salon now has a nail bar and barber area, and an ice cream parlour was added to improve residents’ nutrition. Residents are encouraged to express their views and wishes, and individuality is celebrated.

We had a wonderful time celebrating St George’s Day here at Appleby House
As always, we were treated to fantastic entertainment from MACK Entertainment, with the lovely Amy Putt bringing the room to life with a selection of beloved British classics. Residents were singing along, tapping their feet, and enjoying every moment of the celebration.
A truly joyful afternoon filled with music, pride, and togetherness.

Our residents enjoyed a delightful and creative morning, coming together to decorate plant pots using the art of decoupage.

Opportunities such as these are so valuable, encouraging social interaction, creativity and a shared sense of achievement, all while celebrating the arrival of the spring season!

Our Easter celebrations are still in full swing here at Appleby House, with more wonderful music and entertainment to enjoy.

A huge thank you to MACK Entertainment for bringing us the lovely and very talented Malindi, who treated our residents to a fantastic selection of upbeat tunes. There was plenty of toe-tapping, singing along, and smiles all around—just how we like it!

Music truly brings everyone together, and it was another joyful afternoon filled with energy, laughter, and special moments.

We can’t wait for more celebrations to come!

At Appleby House, we love a challenge! 🍫🎲
So, when asked to create a chocolate cake inspired by a retro board game, we made not one but two — a Snakes and Ladders game and a Chess set, all from chocolate!
Lots of laughter, disappearing sweets, and even a first-time mixer user made it a sweet day to remember.
