Some of you may know that we have a rota of residents and tenants who join us regularly to support our media work.

Over the past couple of months, we’ve invited them to share their reflections on our staff—highlighting the many ways they feel supported, empowered, and inspired each day.

As it’s Carers Week, we’re excited to share these stories with you. 💙
For the next five days at 2pm, we’ll be posting a new reflection.

We’re starting today with Ade, pictured here with our Support Worker Abi—a great example of the trust, choice, and connection at the heart of what we do.

Our June newsletter is out now 🎉

It’s packed with great stories from across Lisieux Trust — from Ben’s cooking course success to the brilliant Beach Bingo event that brought everyone together.

You’ll also hear from our Interim CEO, Emma, as she shares her first reflections, plus a heartfelt goodbye to Jess as she begins her next chapter. Alongside that, we’re celebrating some fantastic award nominations for our team 👏

As always, one of the best parts is hearing directly from people we support — sharing their days out, achievements and what matters to them.

📖 Read it here:

Printed copies will be with you next week if you prefer a physical read.

These photos were taken around 10 days ago at the end of the heatwave, and it’s wonderful to see Ben enjoying his garden in the calm of a tranquil early evening. 🌿

Moments like this really reflect our values of Inspiration and Fun, as well as the importance of Choice in how people spend their time and enjoy their own space.

It's Tuesday and 2pm and time for another one of Ade's raps. Villa fan Ade just had to recognise their stunning achievements this season, so he did it the only way he knows how.

This man had a fantastic day out recently at Wibbly Wobbly World of Play in Birmingham – a place he absolutely loves and has visited many times over the years. 😄

Our Support Worker and Driver, Rob, was his trusty wingman for the day, making sure plenty of the fun was captured on camera and sending us these brilliant photos.

From the smiles to the excitement, it looks like a day packed full of fun – and that's exactly what it's all about. 💙

Looks like he had an amazing time, doesn't it?

Another Monday rolls around… and how is it already the second week in June?!

Last week we popped into Steven’s house and found him right in the middle of a jigsaw puzzle. He kindly paused his masterpiece to wish you all a brilliant week ahead.

A small moment of calm, focus and fun – and a lovely reminder of the inspiration found in everyday things. 💙

As we come to the end of Volunteers' Week, our Chair, Paul Eeles, has shared a personal reflection on the power of volunteering and the contribution made by trustees across Lisieux Trust.

"Volunteers’ Week always reminds me how powerful it is to give your time to others. My own eight years volunteering in social care over 30 years ago shaped who I am and still guides me today as Chair of Lisieux Trust.

This week, I want to recognise and thank my fellow trustees. Their commitment, judgement and compassion ensure the people we support live with dignity and opportunity. I’m proud to serve alongside you."

As Volunteers' Week draws to a close, we'd like to thank all those who give their time, expertise and support to help make a difference.

🏖️ BEACH BINGO BRINGS SUMMER FUN TO LISIEUX TRUST! 🏖️

A huge well done to tenant Rosa, who helped organise and host a fantastic Beach Bingo evening alongside Alison, Head of Operations.

Residents and tenants from across Lisieux Trust came together for a night of laughter, friendly competition and seaside-themed fun. With tropical decorations, refreshing non-alcoholic pina coladas and prizes on offer throughout the evening, the event was a huge success.

Rosa also took on the role of caller, keeping the excitement building. There was just one special rule – winners had to shout "Beach Bingo!" instead of the traditional "House!"

The event was a wonderful example of people coming together to create opportunities for fun, friendship and community.

As Volunteers’ Week comes to a close, we're shining a light on one of the people helping to guide Lisieux Trust into the future.

Trustees play a vital role in supporting our work, bringing their skills, experience and commitment to help us continue making a difference in people's lives.

In our latest Q&A, trustee Gareth Chandler shares what inspired him to join the Board, what he's learned so far, and why he believes everyone has something valuable to offer.

"I wanted to support a charity that is helping people in the local community and knew the trust has a good reputation in this."
