Onaya 🍃 Bridging the gap between traditional spiritual knowledge & not-for-profit clinical research
🍃 Courses & education
🍃 Preparation & integration

Onaya Science is a non-profit organisation focused on investigating the therapeutic potential of Amazonian plant medicines. Working alongside Shipibo curanderos, our team of scientists and collaborative laboratories continues to expand as we develop new experiments. Studying the healing remedies of the past enables us to provide data which may help inform the current scientific paradigm, helping d

evelop novel treatments from ancient wisdom. Data is published in a number of scientific journals and has received growing media attention, our last study being featured in Forbes. Information is also shared at scientific conferences, newspapers/ websites, podcasts and other media efforts. https://www.forbes.com/sites/amandasiebert/2021/06/28/first-ever-study-looks-at-ayahuascas-impact-on-dna-expression/

This is what it looks like when science and Indigeneity meet in relationship, with openness, growth, understanding, and joy. 🌿🌎✨

There is so much to learn from one another. Watching Dr and share this moment was a reminder that when we approach with curiosity and humility, the learning moves both ways - cosmologies in dialogue. 🤝

This is the kind of bridge we need more of.

Viva! 💚

Last week we welcomed Dr to the UK for a special very special in-person gathering hosted by the Transdisciplinary Psychedelic Colloquium, and it was an afternoon we’ll carry with us for a long time.

This colloquium brought together an incredible community of curious, open-hearted people for a special conversation, weaving science and tradition to help us better understand psychedelic parenthood.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Adana for so generously sharing her knowledge, wisdom, and lived experience with us all. Her presence, insight, openness and light-heartedness filled the room with so much joy, and truly made this event equally as meaningful as educational.

And a special shout out to Felipe for his exceptional translation work, making this knowledge accessible to everyone in the room. He had a natural knack for translating the feeling in her message and we couldn’t have done it without you.

The turnout was amazing and the feedback has been so warm and positive, and we’re grateful for every single person who showed up and engaged so openly.

We have lots of wonderful content from the event to share with you all so stay tuned!

With love from the Onaya Team 💚

In this episode, Dr. WaiFung Tsang, DClinPsy explores the emerging intersection of psychedelics and neurodiversity, reframing neurodivergence as a context-dependent spectrum shaped by biology, culture, and lived experience. Drawing on clinical work with autistic individuals, veterans, and athletes, he discusses how psychedelic states may temporarily induce experiences similar to neurodivergence—heightening sensory processing, altering cognition, and expanding perception—and how these states manifest differently for neurodivergent individuals.

The conversation highlights early anecdotal evidence and preliminary research suggesting potential benefits for social connection, attentional regulation, and emotional processing, while emphasizing the need for more rigorous studies. Dr. Tsang also underscores the importance of thoughtful accommodations in psychedelic settings, noting that many best practices for supporting neurodivergent participants—clear structure, sensory tools, and intentional environments—ultimately improve outcomes for all participants.

There is a growing need for grounded, ethical, and well-informed support in the world of psychedelic preparation and integration.

We’re honored that Isa will be joining an incredible group of teachers for Onaya’s Psychedelic Mentorship Training - a 6-month program designed for therapists, coaches, care professionals, and those called to work with plant medicine in a responsible and skillful way.

This training brings together Indigenous wisdom traditions and modern therapeutic approaches, offering a strong foundation for those looking to deepen their understanding and step into this work with integrity.

If you feel called to support others on this path, this is a meaningful opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners across disciplines.

🗓 Begins April 28
