We’re looking for four new trustees to join SisterWood. 🌿

As a small, grassroots organisation, we’re looking for people who share our values and want to help shape SisterWood’s future as we grow thoughtfully and sustainably.

We’re currently recruiting for four voluntary trustee roles:

• Treasurer
• Fundraiser
• Governance & Board Operations
• Marketing & Communications

If you’re values-led, thoughtful and believe in the power of nature, community and creating spaces where young women can feel safe, seen and supported, we’d love to hear from you.

Whether you’re an experienced trustee or bringing these skills to a board for the first time, your perspective could make a real difference.

We know that charity boards don’t always reflect the communities they serve. We particularly welcome applications from people who are underrepresented in charity governance, including people from the global majority, d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people, LGBTQ+ people, people from working-class or lower socio-economic backgrounds, people with care experience, and people with strong connections to Devon.

☀️ Come join us in the woods this summer ☀️

As the woodland settles into summer, we’re inviting girls aged 12–18 to spend a day with us at SisterWood.

Whether you’d like to get involved in activities, meet the team, make new friends, or simply relax outdoors and enjoy the space, you’re very welcome. There’s no pressure to join in everything just come as you are.

🌿 Share ideas for the future
You’re welcome to bring a friend along too (as long as they’re aged 12–18), but everyone will need to register in advance.

Please bring:
💧 A water bottle
👟 Comfortable outdoor clothes and sturdy footwear or wellies
🧥 Layers for whatever the weather brings

If you’re wondering whether the day is right for you, our friendly facilitator would be happy to have a chat beforehand and answer any questions. Families and young people are very welcome to get in touch.

Flowers take a season to bloom, and the most meaningful work with young people takes time too.

Through time spent together in nature, conversation, creativity, and shared quiet moments, girls blossom.

At SisterWood, our woodland sessions are shaped by relationships: with each other, with the land, and within themselves.

There are still a few days to apply as Woodland Lead Facilitator / Coordinator to help guide a co-production journey, bringing together past, present and new girls to help shape the future of SisterWood.

If you’re someone who feels comfortable holding space outdoors, working relationally with young people, developing and coordinating programmes and gently guiding creativity and connection to unfold, we’d love to hear from you.

Did you know that spending time in nature can reduce stress by up to 60%?

At Sisterwood, we create space for girls to build confidence, explore who they are, and feel held by the natural world and each other.

We’ve got a few spaces left on our summer programme for girls aged 12-16. If someone comes to mind, we’d love to hear from you!

Volunteer with SisterWood - Nature, creativity & care for girls aged 12–16

We’re looking for someone who feels at home in nature and brings a calm, caring presence to join our summer programme.

As a Programme Support Volunteer, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming space where young people can rest, explore, and reconnect, with themselves, each other, and the land.

🗓 Taster Day: Sun 12 May
🗓 Sessions: Mondays, 2nd June – 21 July

We’re looking for people who:
✨ Feel at home in woodland settings
✨ Have experience supporting young people or community spaces
✨ Bring calm, creativity and care

Travel costs are covered. We can support your DBS if needed.

🌟 We closed July with a productive Trustee Day, celebrating the past year’s achievements and making plans for the future 🤸‍♀️

Now, we’re taking a well-earned summer break to rest and refresh 🌿

At SisterWood we know the importance of looking after our own mental health and well-being, and hope to return even stronger and more energised in September 💪

We hope you all find time for some self-care and reflection over the holidays, and look forward to seeing you all again soon 💚
